Brand new project-managing fundraising role. Leading all trust activity for this established, innovative and successful charity.
Ark is a charity determined to transform the lives of children through effective education. It does this directly, through its collective of 38 schools, or through innovative programmes and partnerships that help deliver the academic excellence, personal enrichment and opportunities needed for young people to make ambitious choices about their future.
Ark brings together the skill and vision of academic professionals, business leaders and social innovators to deliver a highly-effective and successful model for education, focused on the needs of each student. Clear leadership, enabling partnerships, innovative projects, and effective support and training have established Ark as a leader in its field, and has helped the charity develop excellent links across the sector and in the communities it serves.
Out of the 26,000 secondary students in Ark’s network, 52% are disadvantaged (nearly double the national average of 27%), but the proportion of this group that pass English and maths GCSEs is over a third higher than the national average.
Ark’s fundraising team of three helps to coordinate income of over £14.5m from trusts and foundations, major donors and corporate supporters. Ark has grown from a disruptive and progressive start-up, funded primarily by private philanthropy, to an established, successful and ambitious charity, focused on solving some of the biggest challenges faced by schools in the UK.
