Pitzhanger Manor is the Grade 1 listed country home of renowned British architect Sir John Soane, designed and built by Soane 1800-1804 in what was then rural Ealing, West London. It reopened to the public in 2019 following an award-winning £12m HLF and ACE-supported conservation project. Today it stages an ambitious programme of contemporary exhibitions ranging from Anish Kapoor and Es Devlin to Rana Begum and Idris Khan, alongside a public programme of events, learning & outreach activities.
The Head of Development will lead the fundraising and development strategy for the Manor and its contemporary art Gallery. Sitting on the Senior Management Team, you will play a crucial role in building on Pitzhanger’s past successes and existing fundraising relationships to create new opportunities. You will, as Head of Development, develop the income strategy that will include trusts and foundations, corporates, individuals, and broader public fundraising campaigns. The department also manages the Patrons’ and Members’ schemes.
The selected candidate will be inspired by the opportunity to work in a new, entrepreneurial fundraising environment where your input will not only make a real difference, it will define fundraising for the organisation for the future. We are looking to recruit a talented and self-motivated Senior Business Development Manager to join us in early June 2024 on a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Development, this role is essential to driving forward the implementation of Creative United’s business development plans across multiple programme and project strands. About the Role
As Head of Grants and Trusts you will work closely with the Director of Development to establish a new development department. You will build and lead the Grants and Trusts team in increasing income from statutory and lottery funders, private trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies in the UK and internationally.
You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including the Arts Council England and National Lottery Heritage fund.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Significant fundraising experience in Trusts and Grants with demonstratable experience of securing funds between £50,000 and £1 Million
- You will have had experience in developing and delivering a fundraising strategy
- You will have had experience in working with the Arts Council and National lottery heritage fund
- You will have a good understanding of the UK funding environment

We are recruiting for a Head of Visitor Services to lead and develop the teams responsible for delivering an outstanding service and exceptional experience to our visitors. Whilst primary responsibility is to deliver operational excellence, this role also focuses on the strategic development of the whole visitor experience. You will have extensive experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams with the ability to mentor and motivate in order to achieve organisational targets. You will have a proven track record of driving strategy related to customer/visitor experience with demonstrable success in delivering improvements. In addition, you will have a high level of financial acumen, commercial awareness and a proven track record of budget management, as well as the ability to effectively manage complex projects.

As the key relationship manager for a portfolio of some of our closest and passionate supporters, the Major Gifts Manager makes a vital contribution to this growing income stream. By identifying, cultivating, soliciting and securing major gifts of £25,000 and more, and working collaboratively across the department with other fundraising teams, there is lots of scope to build on your existing fundraising experience to develop an engaged and generous portfolio of major donors.

About the Role
As Senior Major Gifts Manager, you will support both the organisations vision and the Development Department's strategy, to grow philanthropic income. The Role
You will act as in-house Retrofit Manager supporting the Head of Retrofit to implement agreed plans for delivery of the Retrofit programme as part of the Diocese’s commitment to our Net Zero strategy by 2035 for our vicarage property portfolio of circa 450 houses.
About You
You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work with us - around 50% of staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins out work. However, all staff do have a desire to make a difference.
To succeed you will be educated to degree level, have a robust understanding of the statutory requirements in relation to property management along with the ability to negotiate with various stake holders including contractors and consultants. Along with a good knowledge of Energy Performance Certificates, building knowledge and retrofit measures.
You will be well organised and proficient with Microsoft. This role will require you to travel across the Diocese, so a full clean UK driving licence is essential
