he role will be varied and will involve working across the organisation providing support to both the operational and programme delivery teams. The role will assist the Finance Manager, performing various financial administrative tasks and will also support the community engagement and programme delivery team in varied administrative tasks, including contacting event participants, administering details within our CRM system, assisting with logistics for events such as room booking, catering orders and helping setting up rooms for events.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks, supporting the organisation’s operations
- Entering invoice details into Xero/ Quickbooks accounting systems, raising invoices and providing finance administration support to the Finance Manager as required.
- Maintaining mailing lists for course participants, creative producers and community engagement groups. Prepare and distribute correspondence as requested
- Providing administrative support to the Programme and Community Engagement team in terms of sending out invitations, monitoring attendance and assisting with setting up and sending out any surveys or participant evaluation as required
- Providing support for the booking of rooms/catering services or other requirements for the Southampton Forward programme of events.
- Note-taking in meetings as required
- Administration of the volunteer groups
- Conduct data entry to support the charity’s evaluation work
- Attendance at events to support the programme delivery team as required

The Role
As a Casual Learning Officer, you will support the delivery of our outdoor learning programmes.
Working alongside our inspiring Learning Team, you’ll plan and deliver school sessions and other activities to visitors of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, providing inclusive, fun and high-quality experiences across nature, heritage and wellbeing. You’ll have the opportunity to build varied experience in a range of informal settings, such as drop-in events, festivals and out in the parks’ beautiful habitats.
You may also be offered opportunities to undertake a range of administrative and customer support duties, including responding to enquiries from the public, uploading event information online and processing booking transfer and cancellation requests.
About You
To be considered as a Casual Learning Officer, you will need:
- Proven experience delivering outdoor environmental education to school groups
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver sessions with energy and enthusiasm to diverse audiences
- In depth knowledge of ecology, natural heritage and outdoor learning
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills

Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes. The General Manager works closely with the Director and Board of Trustees as part of a small and supportive team to contribute actively and creatively to the development of the organisation, as well as overseeing daily and organisational operations. · Development Initiatives: Proactively identify and implement strategies for the continuous development of AMUSF, considering improved services, effective communication, and advocacy opportunities. Establish a strong connection with members through visits and collaborative efforts.
· Membership Acquisition and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement efficient systems for handling inquiries from prospective members. Drive membership acquisition with the aim to double membership in the next 2 years. Oversee the assessment of new and existing members, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
· Complaints Management: Take charge of the complaints system, ensuring timely responses, informal resolutions, and formal assessments when necessary. Navigate diplomatically through communication with both complainants and members.
· Training provision: Collaborate closely with the Director of Training to support and maintain the training centre qualification system as well as the training assessment process ensuring alignment with our high standards.
· Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations, including task delegation and handling of routine activities. This role is supported by an administrative position.
· Committee Participation and Board Management: Actively participate in relevant committee meetings, evaluating the ongoing value of AMUSF's representation. Serve as the secretary to the Board, ensuring efficient organization and follow-up actions.
· Event Coordination: Arrange and oversee the Annual General Meeting and Ordinary General Meeting, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
