Birmingham, West Midlands (office/field based, with some travel throughout the West Midlands)

About Us

ACH (Ashley Community Housing) is a social enterprise that provides a range of integration and support services for refugees. During the past ten years, we’ve grown from a small-scale housing organisation to a leading provider of integration, employment and housing services for refugees and newly arrived communities in the UK.

Through our subsidiary Himilo Training, our employment work aims to deliver real long-term impact to our service users by providing them with everything they need for successful employment. We also aim to effectively develop ‘softer’ characteristics such as motivation, focus, ambition and confidence.

We are now looking for an Employment & Careers Manager to join us and support the success of our employment programmes throughout the West Midlands.

The Role

As the Employment & Careers Manager, you will lead and represent our West Midlands Employment and Careers Service Team. This team delivers CIAG and training, supports our Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Programme and delivers our commercial pre and post-employment training contracts.

You will manage the contracts and performance of our employment-related programmes, grow our stakeholder network and strengthen our existing relationships with employers. 

Above all, you will ensure that we deliver an impactful and responsive service that is focused on achieving positive, sustainable outcomes for our service users and employment partners.

You will also: 

- Develop, support and motivate your team to perform at their best 
- Oversee and co-ordinate the delivery of our employment programmes 
- Help to maximise our income and ensure all projects are delivered within budget 
- Support the continuous improvement of our services 

About You

To join us as our Employment & Careers Manager, you will need: 

- Programme and/or project management experience, including budgets 
- Experience of working with, and supporting, refugees 
- Previous experience of dealing with a range of employers 
- Excellent communication skills
