Birmingham, West Midlands (office/field based, with travel throughout the West Midlands)

ACH (Ashley Community Housing) is a social enterprise that provides a range of integration and support services for refugees. During the past ten years, we’ve grown from a small-scale housing organisation to a leading provider of integration, employment and housing services for refugees and newly arrived communities in the UK.

We are currently looking for a Housing and Support Manager to lead our West Midlands Housing and Support Team.

Your Role

As the Housing and Support Manager, you will be tasked with leading a team of 10-15 staff in the delivery of tenant housing and support operations across Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

You will manage both the contracts and performance for our tenanted housing and support operations, ensuring all legal requirements are met and we increase tenant empowerment whilst maximising rental income.

Your role will also involve:

- Growing our stakeholder network and enhancing existing relationships 
- Representing our organisation at forums and within networks to build our profile
- Managing relationships with landlords
- Securing new landlord partnerships
- Developing working practices to increase efficiencies
- Growing skills within your team and promoting an environment of continuous improvement
- Managing property and housing maintenance and care-taking services
- Preparing new rent schemes and annual changes

About You

To be considered as the Housing and Support Manager, you will need:

- Experience of working in supported housing management operations
- Experience of income collection, budget management and rent setting
- Proven experience of line managing and developing staff, including against clear performance targets
- Knowledge of housing management and housing-related support, including statutory and social requirements relating to newly arrived refugees
- A management qualification at Level 3 (at a minimum) or demonstrable equivalent experience

Knowledge of local job markets and the recruitment sector in the West Midlands, including potential delivery partners would be beneficial to your application. Experience of developing and contributing to successful partnerships in the public, private and/or voluntary sector (at project lead level or above) would also be an advantage.

A housing management-related qualification at Level 3 or equivalent would be equally desirable, as would a full, clean driving licence and a vehicle that is insured for business use.
