Job description

ASIRT provides vital services to people vulnerable to destitution as a direct result of their immigration status throughout the West Midlands. We provide legal representation and advocacy for migrants at crucial times in their lives to ensure that they can live in safety, meet their essential needs, and overcome the barriers they face to thrive in the UK. We seek to challenge exclusion and improve policy and service provision by drawing on people’s lived experience and supporting communities to develop a voice and have it heard. We use the evidence gathered through service provision and research to inform, influence, and create systemic change at local, regional and national level. 

Providing individual casework, as well as a range of events and activities, this role will manage all aspects of a welll-established project working with some of our families.  You will manage recruit, train and manage volunteers to work with you on the project, manage your own budget and work autonomously, whilst being part of a close-knit and supportive team.  This varied job will hold something different every day - from trying to collect evidence for a children's citizenship application to organising a trip to the pantomime.  You will have a passion for social justice, previous experience working in a support and advocacy role with chidlren, and a qualification in (or a commitment to learning) immigration advice.
