About Association of Chairs
If you join us, you’ll be helping a wide range of charities to succeed and change the world for the better. You will be helping the leaders of charities to lead them well. Most charities are headed by unpaid boards of volunteers who have a legal responsibility for the running of the organisation. So, it’s not surprising that being the Chair of the board is a tough job, and as they tell us, quite lonely even for very experienced people.
Association of Chairs provides a member network for Chairs of social purpose and not-for-profit organisations, and was formed in order to help Chairs with their unique task: leading the board in delivering the organisation’s aims. We launched in October 2013 to fill the gap in support for Chairs – most advice and training was focused on the general duties of all trustees.
About this role
We are recruiting for an Events and Projects Officer to co-ordinate our events programme and projects. Our weekly events are our primary method of gathering, informing, and empowering our members, and non-members, to effect change in their own organisations and with their own boards. With the charity sector emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic and many organisations considering new ways of working, this is an exciting time to be involved in empowering Chairs and their boards.
Our small, dedicated team works hard on behalf of Chairs in the Third Sector and we’d love you to join us on our journey. There is more information on our organisation and the role in the attached job pack (see the supporting documents section).
Key summary of additional benefits:
- Training and development opportunities
- 4% pension contribution (non contractual) to your pension after 6 months
- Joining an experienced, talented, caring, good-humoured team
- Excellent networking opportunities including with leading figures in our sector
- 25 days annual leave entitlement, in addition to public holidays
Applications close: 5pm, Thursday 17th February
Interviews: Wednesday 23rd - Friday 25th February
