About us

BAAG is a unique advocacy and networking agency which aims to support humanitarian and development programmes in Afghanistan. Founded in 1987, we have around 30 member agencies and work closely with Afghan civil society groups, reflecting Afghan views and aspirations. BAAG is the only coordinating agency of its kind in the UK. It is a source of expert advice for policymakers, donors, media, and the public.

 

About the role

This role will partially support a new project funded through the Open Society Foundation to support advocacy for continued support to the Afghan State and Afghan civil society and the contribution they can make to the future of the country as well as provide general administrative support to the orgnaisation.

 

The Administrator will join a small team to provide effective administrative support to BAAG and its Director and some support to other self-servicing staff. S/he will review and update current recording and information management and some financial tasks.

 

S/he will be expected to be a full member of the team and take on other duties that are consistent with the job of Administrator and manageable. S/he will report to the Director.

 

About you

You should possess knowledge or interest in the Afghanistan context and have demonstrated experience providing reliable administrative support in an office or related setting.  You will be detail oriented, self-motivated, and have strong writing skills. You should possess strong communication skills, with a track record of communicated to a wide range of stakeholders of various diverse backgrounds. You should be proficient in Excel and be able to read budgets and support finance tasks. You will uphold BAAG’s core values, including on inclusion, accountability, gender equality, and do no harm.
