BANK WORKERS REQUIRED - Zero hours, as required. Shifts consist of 12 hour waking nights and day shifts

We have multiple Bank Staff - Support Worker vacancies at our new high need residential service for young people, Redds
Place. The shifts are located within accommodation based services that offer temporary housing to young people and support around a range of issues. 

The post holders are required to work 12 hours shifts which consist of days and waking nights. Job descriptions are attached. 

You must be able to engage and develop a rapport with young people, make them feel at ease and offer 1:1 support to them with a small caseload as well as support any young people that need you whilst you are on shift. Backup take a trauma informed care approach to the work with young people to give them the best chances of moving on successfully. The role also includes some housing management, managing premises, ensuring young people can live within the conditions of occupancy and support them to do so. 

The issues you will be assisting young people with include:-

-Mental health problems
-Substance Misuse
-Finding work and education opportunities
-Positive lifestyles

amongst other issues resulting from homelessness.

You need patience, persistence and resilience; this work isn't for the faint hearted and you have to care.  We believe passionately young people deserve a good quality service, they are not homeless through choice or fault and need our help to survive trauma, develop some resilience of their own and live independently. The work involves a lot of direct work with young people but also needs efficient admin - case notes, housing benefit and other welfare benefit claims, letters and reports.
