Job description

Barking and Dagenham Giving (BD Giving) has been set up by Barking & Dagenham Council and local stakeholders as an important new pillar of the borough’s new social infrastructure. As part of London’s Local Giving movement, our role will focus on brokering relationships and growing the pool of available resources – money, expertise, people power available to support the organisations and residents of the borough.

As part of this, we have exciting plans for establishing a new Endowment for BD Giving to secure long term funding for our goals We know that if we are to be successful in strengthening Barking and Dagenham all sectors will need to learn to share and collaborate more. Our ambition is to build on these initiatives, and harness the collective financial and non-financial resources of the public, private and VCSE sectors, together with those of individuals, families and communities to deliver more impact on the ground, and enable our community to grow stronger, in the midst of challenging times. BDGiving is being established as an Independent Trust with Board members from public, private and VCS sectors.

We are recruiting our first Chief Executive who will be responsible for consolidating our initial work, establishing the new Board and ensuring we meet our immediate income and activity goals for the next two years, as well as developing our strategy and direction as we move forward. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional, with the leadership, strategic, marketing and fundraising skills, to develop, implement and lead this initiative going forward.

Please apply with both a CV and cover letter.
