Barnardo's National Counter Trafficking Service encompasses four distinct services operating in various geographical areas across England and Wales. This includes the Independent Child Trafficking Guardianship Service (ICTG Service). The ICTG Service is expanding and developing in 2021/2022 and we are pleased to announce some exciting opportunities to join a passionate and experienced national team. We are advertising various different and varied roles working with children and young people and/or with professionals that work directly with children.

This role is Regional Practice Coordinator (Project Worker 2)


Regional Practice Coordinators (RPC) work alongside Independent Child Trafficking Guardians (ICTG) who are specialist professionals providing direct support to children identified as trafficked to navigate the complex systems of social care, immigration and criminal justice.

Regional Practice Coordinators' (RPC) work within various regions of the country, offering indirect support to children and young people by providing specialist advice and guidance to professionals who are working with the child or young person directly.

Regions Available:

* Wales
* London - covering all London boroughs
* South - covering Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Kent, Surrey and Essex
* North - covering Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, West and North Yorkshire

Location of Post : Home Based with extensive travel around the regions

Number of Posts - 6

Hours of Work: Full-time - 37 hours per week

This role is Permanent with fixed term funding until December 2022

A Regional Practice Coordinator...

* Supports professionals working with children who have been trafficked so that the professionals can help and support children to navigate the complex systems of social care and criminal justice.
* Raises awareness of trafficking and exploitation indicators to enable professionals to identify potential trafficking, particularly at early stages.
* Enables the voices of children who have experienced trafficking to be heard, encouraging and informing best practice and strategy development.
* Promotes best practice in keeping children safe and the prevention of re-trafficking of children by providing advocacy, guidance and signposting to relevant services for professionals working with children who have been trafficked.
* Develops a practice strategy in the region alongside multi-agency stakeholders to find the best ways to upskill and support professionals across the sector to recognise trafficking in all its forms.
* Identifies and address potential blockages to effective multi-agency approaches to children who have been trafficked.
* Supports professionals to develop their skills in compiling and submitting NRM referrals as required.
* Works with police, local authorities and other statutory partners to foster a collaborative working relationship in relation to children who have been trafficked and maintain an accurate understanding and analysis of the nature and extent of internal child trafficking in the region.
