Background to the Role

Everyone’s mental health has been affected during the pandemic, with anxiety and depression doubling compared with normal levels during 2020.  Whilst society is beginning to emerge from responding to the virus, it is clear that the rise in mental health problems is set to continue for some time.

This project will contribute to the One Stockport work. The Community Champion role is a partnership between Beacon and SPARC, a partner mental health organisation, and will reconnect and re-engage clients, supporting people with activities supporting mental health & well-being. The worker will connect with people from diverse ethnic communities, with disabilities, living in disadvantaged areas, and older people in order to improve access to support and services.

The role will help Identify the key emerging issues and needs around mental health and well-being in Stockport, with the findings helping to inform Beacon, SPARC, and local mental health strategy and commissioning.

Completed applications must be returned by 10am Monday 8th November 2021. Late applications will not be accepted.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview which will be held on Thursday 11th November 2021.  Please set aside this date as it is the only one we can offer.
