Job description

The two directors of this busy charity are looking for an executive to work alongside them. You will be working in a small non-hierarchical team running music and employment projects in 10 prisons.

We have a fantastic team of musicians and managers all of whom are deeply committed to what they do, the people serving sentences we work with and the rest of the team.

This role would suit someone who is used to responsibility and making things happen, who is looking for a change in environment. You will be non-judgemental and comfortable with people from all walks of life. You will be interested in social justice. You are comfortable working from home (part of the time) and be prepared to roll your sleeves up and be adaptable. Your personality is more important than sector experience. You will be able to represent the charity and influence and build relationships with prisons, other organisations and funders.

We are looking for energy and positivity, working in a difficult “prison charity” context. We need someone who is good to have around and be around. Efficiency, with an ability to be articulate and write well, is also essential. Business skills will encompass team management, budget management, planning, accounting, pitching to fund raisers, onboarding of employers and networking.

There is a definite opportunity to create an important role and grow as the Charity does.

. Place: Blackheath 2-3 days a week– but must be prepared to travel to prisons in Kent and West Midlands. You will work from home 2-3 days a week (like the rest of the team). Driving licence and a car is essential.

6+ weeks holiday per year.

3 month probationary period

1 month's notice either side

Please ensure that you send a covering letter with your CV.
