Become, the national charity for children in care and young care leavers, is seeking a creative, insightful and passionate person to lead our influencing work and form a key part of Become's Senior Management Team.

At Become we are determined to bring about the changes so desperately needed by care-experienced children and young people. To achieve this, we recently created a policy, campaigns & communications team and are looking for an experienced leader to drive forward impact and bring about policy and practice change.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Senior Management Team to shape the future of the organisation, and we are looking for a candidate who has the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other leaders in the organisation.

This is a vital role for Become which will lead on developing the Policy, Campaigns and Communications team, driving forward our policy & research agenda, developing impactful campaigns and communications strategies which bring about real change and ensuring children and young people are at the heart of and shaping our organisation and that their voices are heard by decision makers and the public.

This is an important time to be joining Become as we await the outcome of the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care, a review that has the power to transform the care system for children and care leavers.

At Become we value and celebrate people’s diversity and believe this strengthens our team. As an organisation serving children in care and care leavers, we are keen to receive applications from people with experience of care and recognise the importance of having care experienced staff within our team. We are also actively seeking to bring diversity of perspectives and experience, and especially welcome applications from people with disabilities, from Black, Asian, Minoritised Ethnic backgrounds and LGBTQ communities.
