IDVA, BEDE STARFISH DOMESTIC ABUSE PROJECT
Full time, permanent contract £26,452 to £30,540 (depending on qualifications and experience), plus contributory pension.
Bede is an established local charity sitting at the heart of the Bermondsey community. Our Bede Starfish Project supports clients who have complex needs to end domestic abuse. Our small, dynamic team uses a flexible, creative casework approach to help clients successfully to live safer lives. A key element in our success lies in accompanying clients to court and social services meetings. We break the cycle of long-term abuse through our Freedom Programme and Survivors’ peer support groups.
This is a unique opportunity for a qualified and adaptable IDVA/Caseworker who wants to do more long-term front facing client work with individuals at high risk and with complex needs. You will have the opportunity to use your holistic skills to help those most vulnerable, including clients who have no recourse to public funds or are facing child care proceedings. Working from our office in Bermondsey, you will work closely with the local Community Safety Unit and will be based once a week at Brixton police station.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the project manager, Ahlam Laabori - details on website or cover letter below.
