Beds SU, the student-led charity at the University of Bedfordshire, seek a project manager to progress our understanding of our members and establish membership communities nationally.
Beds SU is the official Students' Union of the University of Bedfordshire. We represent an incredibly diverse student body, with students from all backgrounds and from across the globe, and we empower students to achieve their full potential. We further their interests to improve their lives as students, as well as providing lots of opportunities for students to meet new people, develop their skills, campaign for change and try something new.
The Campus Development Coordinator will build upon recent research undertaken to enable the SU to understand its diverse student body who study away from the main campuses of Luton and Bedford, to create vibrant, relevant, tailored student communities on these sites. Moving into a new strategic planning cycle, this role will inform how the SU effectively engages harder-to-reach students, travelling to campuses nationally (government restrictions permitting), reaching out to students in their spaces, and directly engaging students in forming membership communities local to them.
This is an exciting, fixed-term role that has the potential to improve the study experiences of thousands of students, many of whom are less traditional University students. The role will support students’ engagement with their union; one tailored to them and that aligns with their needs and interests.
The ideal Campus Development Coordinator will be skilled in working with people and stakeholder management: they will be confident, enterprising and organised; as well as analytical, enquiring and rigorous. In managing this 9-month role, the post holder must be self-motivated and committed; and must use time effectively to fulfil the varying needs of this demanding role.
If you want to work in a fun organisation, committed to improving the lives of our members, then please apply.
To apply, please read the job description thoroughly and complete our online application via our website.
Applications should be submitted no later than 9am on Monday 23rd November 2020. Interviews are scheduled to take place in the week commencing 7th December 2020, but we may be in touch with applicants as they come in, so please don't delay with your application.
Beds SU is committed to diversity and inclusion amongst its staff, reflecting the communities it serves. We welcome applications from those from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, as they are under-represented at Beds SU. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. We are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments individuals may require, and happy to talk flexible working.
Contract: This post is for 9 months, fixed term. The contract term will be reviewed after 6-9 months to assess any scope of continuation beyond this time; the role’s continuation is subject to funding terms.
