Job description

We are seeking a candidate who has experience of developing, delivering and evaluating co-produced training programmes focused on health and wellbeing in the workplace or in addiction services. Ideally, you will have some experience of working in mental health or suicide prevention and understand the principles of supporting individuals who may be at risk of harm.

You will have experience of using services or working with wellbeing professionals to encourage more effective responses which meet the needs of individuals and enable them to thrive and flourish. Your passion for learning and development and your commitment to enabling the voice of lived experience to be at the centre of training solutions will help us leverage the changes needed to prevent and address gambling related harms, including suicide at work and in our communities.


Key Tasks

  • To work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, engaging their support and building awareness and credibility of the programme.

  • To contribute to the design of innovative and impactful training products, ensuring that lived experience informs and enhances their development and delivery.

  • To ensure that quality standards are upheld in the delivery of the programme and that the safety and wellbeing of all participants is prioritised and supported.

  • To plan, prepare and lead training sessions, facilitating engagement and learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom, blended and digital platforms.

  • To support the improvement and evaluation process, facilitating modifications to structure, content and delivery as agreed with the project manager.

  • Act as an ambassador for Betknowmore and ensure the brand values are embedded in all aspects of the design and delivery of Phase Red.

  • To maintain the administrative functions of the role in a timely and organised manner.

  • Qualifications & Key Experience

  • A commitment to a community suicide prevention approach and the willingness to take action to prevent suicide and related harms.

  • Track record or occupational experience as described in a recent teaching or training role or significant subject area knowledge in the areas of addiction, suicide prevention and mental health

  • Desirable to hold a qualification in teaching, learning and development

  • Skills & Knowledge

  • An understanding of health and wellbeing in the workplace and recognition of approaches to improve individual and organisational health.

  • An understanding of teaching, training and accreditation in the context of adult learning with a passion for improving standards.

  • The ability to develop training materials and resources which align to learning outcomes and promote awareness and understanding.

  • An appreciation and commitment to inclusivity and strengthening the voice of lived experience to help reduce stigma and contribute to social change.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the confidence and ability to engage and communicate with people form diverse backgrounds with differing priorities and needs.

  • Essential Experience

  • Collaborative partnership working including representation at multi stakeholder meetings.

  • Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating training products, ideally digital and face to face.

  • Experience of collaborating with those with lived experience to co-produce solutions, services and deliver education.

  • Relevant lived experience alongside an appreciation of the value of a range of approaches and perspectives which contribute to developing understanding and insight.
