Guildford, Surrey
Redhill, Surrey
£115 - £125 per day
Contract, One year self-employed consultancy contract, Part-time
Job description

We're seeking a new team member to join us to coordinate governance and administration across the organisation and support the management and engagement with each of our working partners.

Big Leaf Foundation is a small charity working with displaced young people in Surrey. Our aim is to provide a nurturing programme of activities, projects and events that focus on combating social isolation and improving wellbeing for the young people we support.

Over the past two years, Big Leaf Foundation has grown considerably, in the number of young people we are supporting, the geographical spread of those young people across Surrey, and the number of supporting partners and organisations we are working with to provide our enriching programmes. Currently our Programme Managers and Casework team manage all aspects of our programmes and activities. The coordination and management of each of the Partners we work with has resulted in our team having a reduced bandwidth to provide direct support to the young people themselves.

We're seeking a new team member to join us to coordinate governance and administration across the organisation and support the management and engagement with each of our working partners.

  • Contract: Self-employed position, funded for 1 year (with possibility to extend subject to funding)
  • Hours: Part-time – 2.5 days (20 hours) p/w
  • Salary: £115 – £125 per day depending on experience
  • Location: Surrey (Guildford, Redhill & home-working)
  • Reports to: Trustees
  • Closing date: Wednesday 3 November at 6pm (interviews week commencing 8 November).

You’ll be embarking on a challenging and rewarding role, engaging directly with the Big Leaf core team to support the development and delivery of programmes and activities for displaced young people in both Guildford and Redhill.

You will be responsible for managing the essential governance and administration processes, management of our statutory requirements, working closely with Big Leaf Foundation’s area Programme Managers in Guildford and Redhill, our Casework team, trustees and other partners.

We need someone with excellent strategic thinking, management, communication and planning skills who is passionate about supporting displaced young people and committed to our aims and values.

This Governance, Partner and Admin Coordinator role is a one-year contractor role with the possibility to extend subject to further funding and requirement. Recruitment is conducted in line with safe recruitment practices. Full terms will be set out in the consultancy contract agreement.

Big Leaf particularly welcomes applicants with experience of migration and/or a refugee background. We are an equal opportunities organisation and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.

Successful applicants for this role will be responsible for some areas of organisational governance, including policy oversight in relation to risk; and as such an enhanced DBS certification will be required for this role.

The closing date for applications is 6pm Wednesday 3 November. We anticipate interviews will take place week commencing 8 November.
