About Us

As a proud, independent charity we are on a mission to enrich the cultural life of the region and our vision is clear; we are creating a world-class cultural scene for our region with Birmingham Hippodrome firmly centre stage.

The strength of Birmingham Hippodrome comes from our people; real people with their own thoughts, beliefs, cultures and identities that bring their unique perspective and experiences to our team. We are committed to placing inclusion at the heart of all we do, making it central to our decision making. We are breaking down barriers and building relationships for us to become a more equitable place for audiences, artists, participants, and our own teams. We do not, and will not, tolerate discrimination of any kind.

We are looking for people to join us on this journey at a pivotal time in our evolution; recognising our people and network of talented freelancers and volunteers are core to the growth and success of the organisation.

The future of Birmingham Hippodrome is you.

About The Role

Join us and you will provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to support our Chief Executive and Leadership team on HR and people related issues and policies.  We will look to you to drive organisational culture change, people development and employee engagement too. We also want you to ensure that we have great people practices and our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion are aligned with, and enhance our core values.

Supported by a wider HR team, you will develop insight led people and workforce strategies ensuring that we have the tools in place to deliver and embed culture and change programmes that modernise and transform the way we work. You will also advise and mentor senior leaders on developing their team, building capability and identifying talent as well as work with managers to improve the effectiveness of people management across the organisation.

Ideally CIPD qualified, you must have extensive experience working in a senior level HR role leading on recruitment, talent, OD and EDI. You will possess an impressive record of translating business requirements into people-focused priorities as well as of developing a people agenda that aligns to a business strategy.

Your technical abilities will be complemented by well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. You will also enjoy a collaborative working environment and nurturing a positive organisational culture.

Enjoy a new stage for your senior level HR expertise by visiting the recruitment page on our website and applying online.
