About Black Thrive
Black Thrive Global evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016 to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people in Lambeth. Black people’s cumulative exposure to negative experiences and poor outcomes are not unique to Lambeth and Black Thrive Global was founded in 2020 to address the detrimental outcomes for Black people of African and Caribbean descent wherever they may be located.
Our work covers all life stages – children and young people, working age adults and older adults. Our guiding principle is to centre the lived experiences of Black communities in all that we do and our strategic priorities are to embed race equity in systems change and to decolonise the evidence landscape.
Purpose of the role
We are working with Lottery Community Fund, Impact On Urban Health and Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance (LWNA) to build a Black led culturally appropriate peer support and advocacy (CAPSA) service, designed by Black people for Black communities in Lambeth. CAPSA supports people who are feeling stressed, anxious, or are experiencing difficulties in accessing services that will improve their mental wellbeing. It will be made up of compassionate and caring individuals like you. We will also help community members who are already using mental health services and would like more support.
Are you an experienced administrator who is motivated to support a newly established community project? CAPSA is looking for the right person to support the manager in providing an excellent service to members of Black communities accessing mental health services. This role will require you to be supportive and understanding, as well as provide wide-ranging administrative.
