We are looking for an Alcohol Support Worker for the HAGA Alcohol Service. The Service is part of the integrated Haringey Treatment System and offers support for individuals to make positive, healthy changes to their lifestyle, particularly relating to their alcohol use. The Service supports people to maintain their recovery by providing a range of interventions including 1:1 key work sessions, group work, family work and counselling.
We are looking for a Specialist Alcohol Support Worker – GP Hub Clinics. This post will provide interventions to people with alcohol-related problems in a primary care setting. This involves providing clinic cover, conducting comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and recovery plans, delivering identification and brief advice, and extended brief interventions (brief lifestyle counselling) around alcohol to service users.
This is a fixed term contract for one year to cover maternity leave. Working hours are 35 per week, which includes two weekday evenings, working from 12 – 8pm, and Fridays 11 am – 7 pm.
We are looking for an individual with experience of working with people with alcohol misuse problems, and who has knowledge and experience of assessment tools, and a range of interventions, including EBI. The ability to build supportive, professional relationships with service users is also essential.
