Full-time, fixed-term for one year (maternity cover)

Blenheim, part of Humankind, is an established national charity that provides support to drug and alcohol users, their family and carers. We support people to make lasting changes to their lives.

The HAGA Alcohol Service are looking for a Recovery Worker. The Service is part of the integrated Haringey Treatment System and offers support for individuals to make positive, healthy changes to their lifestyle particularly relating to their alcohol use. The Service supports people to maintain their recovery by providing a range of interventions including 1:1 key-work sessions, group-work, family work and counselling.

The post will provide interventions to people with alcohol related problems. This involves working at GP surgeries providing clinic cover, conducting comprehensive assessments, risk assessments and recovery plans, delivering identification and brief advice, and extended brief interventions.

This is a fixed term contract for one year to cover maternity leave. Working hours are 35 per week, including some evening working to meet service needs.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working with people with alcohol misuse problems, who has knowledge and experience of assessment tools and a range of interventions including EBI. The ability to build supportive, professional relationships with service users is also essential.
