Job description

Blind Veterans UK helps vision-impaired ex-Service men and women of every generation rebuild their lives after sight loss. Since 1915, we’ve provided rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support to tens of thousands of blind veterans.

An exciting opportunity has risen for a dynamic Practice Development Nurse to join our team. If you’d enjoy developing the skills and knowledge of our care staff to deliver and promote person centered care and you’re committed to delivering high standards, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

You’ll give hands on coaching and support to our Care teams; ensure our clinical practice delivery is continually monitored and reviewed and our staff skills are in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.  You’ll also monitor, review and develop our clinical policies and procedures and develop and implement systems to monitor and audit practice throughout the Charity.

You’ll be a registered nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire, encourage and develop others.  You’ll be organised, reflective, self-motivated, and flexible and have a professional and positive approach. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in a Nursing environment; writing policies, procedures and experience in conducting and recording clinical supervision.

This position will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Benefits include free life assurance, free parking, pension scheme, subsidised staff restaurant, use of onsite facilities (which include a gym and swimming pool), health care cash back scheme (after one year of continuous employment), an employee assistance programme and an excellent working environment.
