We’re looking for a family focused Outreach Worker to help transform the lives of parents and young children in Doncaster.
Working as part of a small team you’ll support families with children aged between 0 and 5 to address emerging worries, build resilience and improve the longer-term outcomes of young children.
Based in local Family Hubs, you’ll connect parents with local services designed to help their child thrive. This will include targeted support from Family Lives and the full range of early years services available from Doncaster Family Hubs and local community organisations.
Working closely with our Senior Family Support Coordinator and a small team of volunteers, you will provide support in promoting the service with local schools, Family Hubs and children’s centres. Engagement of parents and caregivers will be a key part of this role, linked to developing relationships with key local agencies to identify who may benefit from the project.
Travel within Doncaster will be required but some home-based working is possible. The hours can be flexibly worked across the week.
You will have excellent communication skills, understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, as well as a commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.

Events and Community Network Manager
£32,000 4-5days per week negotiable (pro rata)

About the role
We’re looking for an engaging, organised, and experienced event manager who is ready to develop their skills by cultivating a broad package of events for people in Wandsworth, organising and engaging across our projects with occasional outreach and online network management.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on internal and external events of a varied nature, perhaps organising a public forum to discuss local health and wellbeing services with Healthwatch Wandsworth, preparing a training programme for local charity fundraising, or preparing an internal all-staff together day.
About you
This role is designed for someone with 2+ years’ experience working on events who is looking to grow skills in community development. We’re looking for a person to bring a proactive attitude to the role who is self-driven to develop skills, creative network solutions, and build relationships in the voluntary and community sector.
You will be someone who has a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, preferably with qualifications in marketing or events. You will be organised with an attention to detail and respect for the importance of sharing information and building data capture mechanisms in your work to build sustainable organisations.
Responsibilities
Event profile
· Plan our Voluntary Sector networking event schedule, building on insight from our community to create engaging agendas, and attract compelling speakers
· Create public events for our Healthwatch brand, finding new, exciting ways to engage the public and professionals in conversation about health and social care services
· Manage a set of engagement events with our staff, stakeholders, boards, and volunteers
· Manage relationships with our volunteer network chairs to support them and advocate continual improvement
Event management
· Create and represent the adoption of events processes including an events calendar, event production schedules, wash up processes, review sheets, and briefing documentation for new proposals
· Create inclusion in the event registration and attendance experience to support people with a variety of needs
· Work on preparing event descriptions, documentation for trainings, presentation slides, and written resources with support from the Marketing and Communications team
Reporting and delegation
· Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to incorporate observation days and external news into our events for an informed and integrated information experience
· Work with the Marketing and Communications team to plan PR and promotion of events to agreed timelines
· Support and delegate responsibilities to the PA and team assistant for coordinating catering, room bookings, technology needs, budgets, timelines and meeting invitations
Community management
· Coordinate external event attendance with the Voluntary Sector Development Manager and agree methods to report sector engagement
· Attend external events in the community where relevant to network development
· Manage online communities as relevant e.g. Facebook groups, digital coaching circles, online forums
· Support Voluntary Sector Development Manager and Health Research and Insights team with outreach work when required and appropriate
Person Specification
Essential
· 2+ years’ experience organising events
· Experience creating your own planning schedules, calendars, and keeping to deadlines
· Experience with creating and working to budgets
· Experience producing compelling event agendas, managing speakers, guests, and suppliers
· Familiarity with social media platforms, post-event engagement, and digital networks
· An understanding of the importance of collecting data, registrations, and feedback to evidence a high standard of working
· An understanding of EDI practices in event management
· Confidence to engage a range of stakeholders, local leaders, and members of the public in your work
· Experience working in a team for shared objectives and self-motivated to work independently

Young Adults Diabetes service
Part Time - 30 hours per week
Fixed Term Contract until December 2024
Poplar HARCA is committed to providing a high quality youth offer to young people. The tried-and-tested youth offer has been developed through exhaustive consultation with young people. This included 1,600 conversations with young people to define the programme offer.
The Youth Support Worker role within the diabetes service is a new one and one that will develop during your time with us. You will be expected to work independently and feedback progress to the rest of the team.
As a Youth support worker, you will be required to be present and participate during clinic, educations session and peer support for young people living with diabetes.
The Youth Support Worker will work with young people on a one-to-one or group basis, and effectively manage a case load of young people to achieve positive health and social outcomes. Working alongside partners within the NHS, they will receive referrals for young people/ adults who require youth support linked to their diabetes.

Team Leader Parents Matter Service) 35 hours per week, £35,012 per annum, (including London weighting), Camden. Fixed term to end March 2026
Family support to pregnant mums and their partners during antenatal & perinatal period.
This is a highly rewarding role for a Team Leader to lead on the implementation of a new outreach strategy and working with Camden’s Early Years’ Service to deliver the start for life and family hubs programme, with a specific focus on enhancing antenatal provision as well as managing an established perinatal service.
The postholder will manage our established perinatal service and be proactive in developing excellent relationships and partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies, bringing local partners together and strengthen the wider antenatal support service offer available to new and expectant parents. This service will provide volunteer face-to-face befriending support in the home and community and provide phone/virtual support through one to one and group sessions.
The postholder will have line management and supervision responsibilities for a small team and will be expected to set up and deliver our parenting programmes for new parents in Family Hubs and the community. The service will work closely in partnership with the midwifery services, Children’s Centres/Family HUBS, health teams and mental health services.
The overall aims of the service are to:
· Improve mental health and wellbeing of parents during the antenatal & perinatal period.
· Reduce parents’ social isolation by ensuring they feel connected and supported through volunteer befriending and the provision of antenatal and postnatal courses, parenting programme and support groups.
· Increase parents’ self-confidence to have the best possible experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
The successful candidate will need to have 2 years’ experience of managing and supervising staff and volunteers. Excellent communication skills both written and oral, as well as experience of safeguarding are essential. You will also be required to have the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver in tight timescales, work on own initiative and as part of a team.
A professional qualification, degree or minimum level 3 qualification, in a relevant field of work with children and families is essential.
