We are seeking a pro-active individual with charity sector experience to run the financial operations team at Blood Cancer UK.
Not afraid to roll up their sleeves, the finance manager will deliver a first-class finance service to the organisation, responsible for payments, income and for ensuring quality control over all financial transactions and how they are recorded. By maintaining an efficient and effective finance operations team, you will be central to supporting the charity’s aim of beating blood cancer within a generation.
As the Finance Manager you’ll lead on all day-to-day aspects of the finance operations team. This includes overseeing the monthly payment runs and making sure our various income streams (including investment income and royalties) are correctly accounted for. You will ensure timely, accurate, compliant and consistent financial information is available from the SUN accounting system at all times.
Supporting the Financial Controller, you will be the leading member of the team on overseeing our accounting processes and ensuring quality control over all financial transactions and how they are recorded. You will also be supporting the yearly audit process and developing and documenting financial procedures.
You will manage a team of two finance officers. You will actively nurture and develop them on their path to progress as finance professionals.
The wider finance team at Blood Cancer UK looks after all aspects of finance, planning, procurement and risk. Your role is part of the Financial Control team within that team. You will be contributing to and shaping our financial control environment, working closely with the Financial Controller and the rest of the finance leadership team. You will also be championing our continuous improvement culture in the wider finance team in the delivery of a first-class finance service to the whole organisation.
