Job description

Blood Cancer UK is looking for a Head of Digital to lead our digital transformation, embedding digital ways of working across the charity and developing products and services that help us reach more people affected by blood cancer.

This is a great role for someone with a strong foundation in digital and good leadership skills to have a huge impact in enabling us to support more people affected by blood cancer and to fund the research that will save more lives.

We have developed an organisational strategy to support our mission to beat blood cancer that has set a medium-term goal for us to reach more people affected by blood cancer. Digital will be a key enabler, and we are looking for a Head of Digital to lead this process.

We have digital experts on our Board and Executive Team, we have started to embrace agile methodology, and our fundraising and information and support teams see digital as key to growth. Above all, we are a charity that knows we need to use digital better and is excited about the journey to get there.

All this means the pieces are in place for the right person to use their skills and experience to make a huge impact on our charity and, in turn, to make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by blood cancer.

You will need to be a champion of digital ways of working and have the ability to develop the culture and processes in the digital team that make it a model for the kind of user-focused, agile, and collaborative way we want to work across the whole charity. But equally as important will be your ability to deliver improvement quickly; our website and our digital marketing are not yet reaching enough people affected by blood cancer, and so you will need to start making progress towards this from your first month in role.

So we need someone who is able to develop and own the digital road map for Blood Cancer UK, making the case for further investment, and identifying and prioritising the developments that will have the most impact for our key audiences. if you are able to take ownership of and lead digital programmes and are pragmatic and focused on problem solving and the bigger picture, this is your chance to use your digital skills and experience to help us beat blood cancer more quickly.
