Holborn, Greater London
£32,000 - £35,000 pa (dependent on experience)
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

We are Bloodwise (becoming Blood Cancer UK on 31 March), and we want to change the world for all blood cancer patients. Every year we stop more people dying of blood cancer and our researchers are even working to stop people developing blood cancer in the first place.

We are looking for a talented media relations professional with experience of working with celebrities to join us as our Senior Media & Celebrity Officer to help us achieve this.

Raising awareness of blood cancer will be vital in the effort to beat it, and as Senior Media and Celebrity Officer you will work with the Media Manager and the Media Officer to raise our public profile through proactive and reactive media relations.

You will also manage our relationship with our celebrity supporters. In particular, you will develop the number of celebrities we have relationships with, helping to maximise the opportunities for working with celebrities to support our work. Your media relations work will cover the breadth of our work, but with a particular emphasis on fundraising.

The successful candidate will deliver our celebrity liaison strategy, handle media relations for our profile raising and income-generating activity and enable our supporters to share their personal experiences of blood cancer in the national media.

The closing date for this exciting opportunity is:

9am on Monday 16 March 2020

Please note applications will be reviewed on receipt and if a suitable candidate is appointed, we may bring forward the closing date of this role at our discretion.
