Blue Cross is one of the UK’s leading rehoming organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes.

We are now looking for a Rehoming Centre Manager to join our team based at our Rehoming and Advice Unit in Radcliffe.

The Role

As the Rehoming Centre Manager, you will lead and manage a team to deliver a range of pet rehoming services.

Placing the welfare of pets as your number one priority, you will manage external kennelling providers and foster carers as well as managing the daily operations of the Centre.

You’ll seek to engage with the local community to drive interest and increase awareness, while also exploring the possibilities of our services and developing creative solutions to the challenges we face.

Your role will also involve:

- Supporting and developing your team
- Delivering fantastic customer service
- Developing existing services

About You

To join us as the Rehoming Centre Manager, you will need:

- Demonstrable experience of managing and leading a team in a pet rehoming environment
- Demonstrable experience of pet assessment, handling and husbandry
- Experience of managing Health and Safety, including risk assessments and COSHH
- Experience of delivering high standards of customer care
- A full, valid driving licence
- At a minimum, a GCSE level qualification in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

Ideally, you will have experience of managing income and expenditure budgets, but this is not essential. The ability to develop and deliver operational strategy would be beneficial, as would experience of managing volunteers. A recognised management qualification would also be beneficial.

Other organisations may call this role Centre Manager, Rehoming Manager, Rehoming Service Manager, Animal Service Manager, Vet Practice Manager, Veterinary Care Manager, Animal Centre Manager, Animal Care Manager, or Supporter Engagement Manager.

This is a full-time role, working 42 hours per week on a rota basis, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

The closing date for this role is the 20th March 2020. Interviews are scheduled for the 27th March 2020, with shortlisted candidates being invited back to attend an assessment centre on 7th April 2020.
