BMS World Mission is seeking to appoint a Director for World Mission who will think, act and lead innovatively. They will lead a team of around 100 ex-pat overseas workers and support 300 international workers relating to 70 partner organisations globally. This Director will work with the Executive Director Team to bring a vision for growth in a challenging environment full of opportunities for new approaches, more effective working and a renewed sense of partnership with the global Body of Christ.
The Director will serve with a team of dedicated staff and as part of an ambitious Executive Director Team. They will bring spiritual, strategic, intercultural and change leadership skills.
As well as leading the department, the Director will share in the leadership of the mission.
The successful candidate will:
• Be a theological and missiological thinker with proven track record in engaging with contemporary aspects of mission
• Be a creative and innovative leader with lived experiences and expertise in global mission changes
• Have demonstrated pastoral skills for inspiring intercultural teams towards fruitful practices in difficult and complex mission conditions
• Have experience of collaborative leadership in engaging the Global South and western world
Based in Didcot, the salary will be in the range £48,699 - £53,849 plus generous pension and holiday benefits.
