This is an exceptional role in a charity which represents the very best of the voluntary sector. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Philanthropy will be responsible for 11 staff in the newly formed Philanthropy team; raising money from major donors, trusts and foundations, and special events. We have an ambitious target of c.£7m with a clear strategy to generate more funds for our ground-breaking research and support people with breast cancer.
An exceptional fundraiser, you will have proven experience of leading a successful philanthropy team in the UK and a track record of securing income from a range of different funders. An articulate, engaging and confident communicator and leader, you will have personally secured significant donations and worked alongside Trustees, senior staff and key influencers to achieve your targets.
We’re excited to announce that in April 2019, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now united to create one charity for everyone affected by breast cancer. From research to care, our new charity has people affected by the disease at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future. United, we can carry out even more world-class research, provide even more life-changing support and campaign even more effectively for better services and care.
By bringing together our passion, energy, expertise, funds and networks, we will make greater progress in more effective ways to make sure that, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and receive the support they need to live well.
Breast Cancer Now is an inclusive employer committed to developing a diverse workforce.
