You will work within our Communications and Influencing Directorate which will market and communicate the new charity, our work and impact to all those affected by breast cancer. This will be achieved through the provision of high quality information about breast cancer; ensuring the cause and patient voice is kept high on the policy, political and media agenda to influence policy and practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Policy, Evidence and Influencing team to influence change for people with breast cancer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take forward an exciting new project which seeks to increase our local campaigning capacity. You will also have the opportunity to work with the Senior Campaigns Lead to progress our high profile campaign to improve treatment and support for people living with secondary breast cancer.
You will need to work closely with people affected by breast cancer to ensure they are at the heart of our campaigning as well as internal teams across the charity. You will need experience of working to influence change through campaigning and an understanding of the political decision-making processes.
Whether you are currently working in a charity, for a health organisation, at an agency or otherwise, you will need to be able to hit the ground running and, as such, have experience of working in a campaigning role. You will also have experience of working with supporters and advocates and possess excellent networking, communication and interpersonal skills and have a sound understanding of the political process.
This is an excellent opportunity for a cause-driven campaigner to both have a tangible, beneficial impact on the lives of those affected by breast cancer as well as the opportunity to grow your own career in a highly experienced, successful and collaborate team.
We’re excited to announce that in April 2019, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now united to create one charity for everyone affected by breast cancer. From research to care, our new charity has people affected by the disease at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future. United, we can carry out even more world-class research, provide even more life-changing support and campaign even more effectively for better services and care.
By bringing together our passion, energy, expertise, funds and networks, we will make greater progress in more effective ways to make sure that, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and receive the support they need to live well.
