Job description

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic, and driven Community and Events Team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with Community and Events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.

However, this past year has been incredibly challenging within the charity events sector, with many of our live events on hold until social distancing measures ease. At Breast Cancer Now we were quick to respond, pivoting to virtual events and developing a sector leading virtual challenges programme that delivered meaningful fundraising events for our supporters throughout the pandemic whilst raising vital funds for the charity.

We are now looking to continue to grow this new and exciting area of our work.

You will play a key role within the Community and Events Team to support the delivery of our innovative virtual challenges on behalf of the organisation, delivering a high value range of events and maximising supporter experiences and retention.

You will project manage some aspects of the events, building excellent relationships both internally and with key event suppliers and platforms.

With the support of the Events Manager and working with the Digital and Strategic Insights Team, you will deliver impactful and innovative supporter care to build the engagement of our virtual fundraisers, whilst supporting the overall delivery and scoping of our virtual events portfolio to position us as the go-to charity for virtual events.

About you

You will have experience delivering virtual challenge events and building excellent supporter journeys to improve conversion, fundraising per head and long-term support.

Your experience using Facebook as an engagement tool, as well as your excellent communication skills will drive our virtual challenges from strength to strength. Your ability to provide high quality customer care whilst working in a busy and fast-paced environment will be critical in this role.

You will have a high attention to detail and a passion for virtual events fundraising and the wider charity sector.
