Job Description

A Charitable Organisation, based in London NW10 area is looking a Part - Time Hindi Speaking Volunteer Support Worker / Outreach / Health Carer for our Service User in the Wembley area of London.

The Charity provides Volunteer Outreach / Healthcare Staff to help vulnerable persons such as the Elderly, Disabled, persons with Learning Disabilities, persons with Mental Health needs. 

Volunteer Health Care Staff perform duties such as:- 

  • Befriending / Companionship e.g. talking, reading, watching TV, playing games (Cards, scrabble, etc.) 
  • Taking service users out of their homes for walks or bus rides
  • Going out together for a meal or coffee and shopping trips
  • Participating in group outings organized for service users
  • Accompanying Service Users to appointments
  • Help with cooking light meals, including cultural and dietary foods 
  • Assistance with occasional light domestic duties such as dusting and washing up

Key Skills / Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have current Enhanced DBS or willing to have one done, fees met by the Organisation 
  • Min NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or working towards the qualifications 
  • Experience working as a Health Care Worker in Care Setting such as Hospitals, Nursing/Residential Care Homes, Supported Living Projects and One-to-one would be an advantage 
  • Experience in befriending work would be an advantage but not essential
  • Be a good listener and have good communication skills
  • Be patient, caring, sympathetic and non-judgmental
  • Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
  • Be willing to give a few weekly hours of 1-2 hours


Must be willing to commit to at least 6 months of active volunteering with the Organisation
