Programme Fundraising Manager
The British Asian Trust is looking for a passionate and self-motivated fundraiser with experience in securing significant income for international development programmes from trust, corporate or statutory donors. The role will be responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to raise significant new income for programmes, with a particular focus on the charity’s social finance initiatives, as well as account managing a small, but diverse, portfolio of existing funders.
The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales, together with a group of visionary British Asian business leaders in response to widespread poverty and hardship in South Asia. The charity uses innovative solutions such as impact investment and social enterprise to tackle problems and inequalities in the areas of education, livelihoods, anti-trafficking and mental health. Working in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, since its inception the British Asian Trust has helped transform the lives of more than four million people.
The organisation’s annual turnover has more than tripled in recent years thanks to the strength of the relationships built with leading members of the British Asian diaspora. It is also the sector leader in the use of social finance to help solve challenges in the field of international development. 2019 is a very exciting time to be joining the organisation. The leadership team has an ambitious but realistic growth strategy in place, across both programmes and fundraising. The British Asian Trust is also getting ready to join forces with a major conservation charity and is looking forward to integrating and diversifying its programmatic impact and funding.
As part of the Programmes and Partnerships Team, the Programme Fundraising Manager will report to the Senior Programme Fundraising Manager and play a key role by securing significant and sustainable income from trusts, corporate foundations, and statutory donors for livelihoods, anti-trafficking, mental health and education programmes in South Asia. Main duties will include working with senior staff members to develop relationships with new and current funders; researching, drafting and submitting funding bids; and overseeing compliance with donor requirements, while working closely with the programmes staff and other internal stakeholders in the UK and South Asia to deliver across these areas.
We are seeking an individual with a strong track record in securing and managing large and complex funding partnerships with trusts, corporate foundations, or statutory donors, preferably for international development initiatives. The British Asian Trust is a fast paced and dynamic environment, ideal for someone looking for the opportunity to broaden their skills and experience working with a variety of donors, programmes and partnerships. We are mainly seeking a proactive and flexible fundraiser, with excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational abilities, able to adapt their skills to meet a range of exciting funding opportunities.
