The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is looking for an inspirational senior leader and team player to lead and develop the two largest sources of BHF fundraising income: legacies and individual giving.
BHF is a highly effective charity that is well-respected nationally and internationally. Their life-saving research saves tens of thousands of lives in the UK each year alone – and enhances the lives of many more. They have a big job on their hands – heart and circulatory diseases cause one in four deaths in the UK.
This is a fabulous opportunity to join a world-class fundraising team in one of the UK’s largest charities with an exciting challenge to protect and build on the success of legacy and individual giving and to identify new income and engagement opportunities.
As the Director of Legacies and Individual Giving you will be responsible for inspiring a high-performing ambitious culture across fundraising teams to achieve shared targets and will work closely with BHF’s brand and marketing teams and ensure that supporters remain at the heart of all decision-making. You will be a pivotal member of the Fundraising Leadership Team and play a key role in the overall management and strategy of the Fundraising Directorate and across the BHF. You will be directly responsible for 35 staff and £18m of expenditure.
The BHF are looking for candidates who can engage and motivate staff and volunteers and help them achieve joint organisational objectives. You will need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to form effective relationships and establish trust and respect with a wide variety of groups and individuals internally and externally.
Alongside exceptional project management capabilities, you will have experience of managing large teams across a range of mass-market, public fundraising or direct marketing disciplines; a track record in developing successful and innovative fundraising products; and proven ability in managing significant growth and exceeding final targets. You will also need to have significant experience in marketing, digital and brand integration across a broad product portfolio.
If you have the relevant skills and experience and would like to help the BHF beat heartbreak from the world’s biggest killers, then find out more details by clicking though to our recruitment pack.
British Heart Foundation recognises and respects the value and diversity of all.
