About the role
We're looking for a committed Fire Safety Officer to play a vital role in the implementation of our Fire Safety Management Plan across the organisation and effective management of the FRA contract, including the tracking of contractor/internal key performance indicators and quality assurance.
You'll provide support and guidance on procedures, policies and compliance issues when required as a technical expert. You'll also be responsible for managing our FRA contract, establishing effective arrangements to raise organisational awareness and competency in practical fire safety management to enable a culture of continual improvement and best practice.
Possessing excellent communication skills, you'll have a track record of successfully delivering fire prevention strategies, having previously advised on the practical application of fire safety measures within a Retail / Warehousing environment. Ideally you'll also be a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (or equivalent) and listed on the IFE Register as an Auditor or Life Risk Assessor.
With a qualification in a fire safety related subject or safety management you'll have a detailed knowledge of current fire and safety legislation. You'll also have extensive knowledge and appreciation of the latest fire engineering / safety management, techniques, best practice and strategies as well as a previous track record of successful delivery of fire prevention strategies and be an experienced fire risk assessor.
You'll be able to work well under pressure able to adapt to changing priorities within a fast paced organisation. Able to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, able to influence at all levels and work in partnership and across boundaries to achieve results.
Please note this is a home-based role, but will have extensive travel across the UK with a frequent requirement to attend our offices in London, Claygate and Northampton.
