Job description

Are you a human resources and employee relations specialist looking to develop your career?  
 
We’re looking for an Employee Relations Adviser to join and help us fund lifesaving research. In this job you'll apply your ER knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of ER issues, including policies and processes, disciplinary, grievance and change management.  

You'll be the escalation point from our HR Generalist team and will take ownership of advising on specialist employee relations casework. Joining a busy team where no two days of the same, you’ll have the opportunity to fully utilise your specialist skills and broaden your experience whilst supporting a great cause.   

Please note this role will be known internally as a People Relations Adviser.

Working arrangement

Please note this is a 9-month fixed term contract, with the potential to be extended, to support high case volumes. 

The role will be dual located between home and approximately once a week in our London office. There will be a requirement to travel when needed between these offices and there will be occasional travel to other sites when required.

About you 

You’ll have in-depth experience of providing practical advice on employee relations issues and will relish a challenge and the opportunity to take ownership of  case work from beginning to end.  
 
To be successful in this role you’ll have the following experience: 
• Exceptional HR experience, CIPD qualified Level 5 or above
• Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and best practise  
• Experience of managing all aspects of employee relations, including policies and processes, disciplinary, grievance and the management of change
• Ideally previous experience working in a large multi-site complex organisation, preferably with experience in Retail
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Strong influencing skills to challenge the status quo and manage complex situations and risk 
• Take a pro-active and forward-thinking approach to support our managers to achieve the optimum outcome 

You'll be a self-starter, with a can-do attitude, and you'll be creative to ensure you find the best possible outcome for the customer and our cause. You’ll have excellent time management and organisational skills and be able to handle a large case load, and juggle conflicting priorities.
