About the role
You’ll focus on our work in prevention and will be involved in the research, develop and dissemination of policy positions to support the BHF’s strategic aim to improve population-level health and reduce the risk of heart and circulatory diseases.
You’ll gain a solid understanding of topics relevant to our population-level health portfolio: obesity and diet, tobacco, air pollution and public health systems, and will be responsible for researching and drafting new policy positions, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities
The BHF Policy and Public Affairs team exists to build support amongst key decision makers so that we can beat heart disease for good. We develop the BHF’s position and engage and influence stakeholders to help ensure the UK remains a global leader in heart and circulatory research.
With an excellent technical grasp of your policy portfolio, looking to continually develop the portfolio further, you’ll have an active interest in policy development and a specific interest in health and influencing health policy, able to drive forward a positive agenda of change for everyone affected by heart and circulatory disease.
With previous experience of policy work, you'll have strong analytical, writing, and research skills, as well as relevant stakeholder engagement experience and be able to identify other partners within/outside the sector to engage with to drive policy change.
With strong communication and relationship building skills you'll be able to work collaboratively in a friendly and busy team. You'll also possess excellent research and analysis skills.
You’ll be able to work on your own initiative. With strong time management and organisation skills you'll have the ability to work under pressure.
