Job description

You’ll will play a key role within the Philanthropy team, working to maximise income for the British Heart Foundation’s work through the research, development, and management of high-level relationships with foundations and trustees.

Managing a diverse portfolio of existing and prospective supporters, you'll enjoy taking initiative to research, develop and engage with new prospects. You'll help deliver fundraising strategy, in line with the wider Philanthropy team's objectives, to achieve ambitious income targets.

The team has been rapidly growing philanthropic giving both domestic and internationally and you will support this by focusing primarily on securing six and seven figure donations from trusts and foundations. You will also help provide a high quality stewardship of existing donors to encourage long term support.

This is a dual location role, with your working time split between your Home and our London Office. This will allow us to unlock our best work for our cause, blending the best of home and office working.

About you

We’re looking for someone with previous trust fundraising experience.

With excellent written skills, the ability to write persuasively, as well as an excellent eye for detail and an analytical and focused nature. 

You'll have knowledge and experience using Raisers Edge, CRM or equivalent database packages and will be insight driven with the ability to develop a strong understanding of our different stakeholders and organisational priorities.

Ambitious and proactive, with excellent time management, you’ll be able to juggle workloads to meet multiple deadlines. You will have the ability to build strong and meaningful relationships and the drive and passion to maximise funding opportunities.

  • Proven experience of successful fundraising from  Trusts and Foundations and/or Institutional funders
  • Proven experience of making successful 6 figure asks and working closely with senior stakeholders to develop and execute solicitation plans
  • Experience of writing compelling funding proposals from scratch
