Driver Technician - Mobility Aids
Location: Based in Telford

Salary: GBP 14,942 per year

We have a Driver Technician position available within our Mobility Aids Service (MAS) based in Telford.

Our Driver Technicians are responsible for ensuring that Mobility Aids equipment is cleaned, maintained and delivered between the warehouse and our outlets.
This is a busy but very rewarding role because this equipment is vital in helping to keep people mobile and independent, making an enormous difference to their lives.
So what does a typical day look like?
Whilst your day-to-day duties can vary depending on the needs of the service, a typical day could see you spending the morning cleaning, maintaining and loading equipment on to the van.
Afterwards, you could be out delivering the equipment to our service user's homes - taking the time to ensure every individual feels comfortable with the equipment provided.

The British Red Cross Mobility Aids Service (MAS) offers wheelchairs and other mobility items to any individual on a short-term basis.

Our aim is to ensure that during a period of personal crisis everyone can access an item of equipment they may need, whoever or wherever they are.

You should be

  • Computer literate with ability to learn how to operate an online stock management system
  • Confident and safe driver with driving experience and knowledge of using a 'Sat Nav'
  • Have a good level of general fitness, (you can lift and handle equipment weighing up to 21kg)
