Job description

We are looking for a trustee with knowledge and experience in developing arts organisations. We are looking for advice and guidance in the sourcing of operational and project funding and the development of a sustainable organisational structure.

Trustees attend quarterly board meetings and receive invitations to all performances. We are looking for someone who has contacts in the arts sector and who would be willing to facilitate networking opportunities. BCO was founded in July 2018 and became a registered charity the following December. In our first year, we carried out 12 projects without any paid staff, whilst musicians were paid small fees. In 2019 we began paying a Music Director, Projects Manager and Orchestral Manager. In December 2019 we received our first grant - from Arts Council England - for our Christmas Tour of community centres. In 2020 we want to grow our team to 5 part-time staff and begin paying Musicians’ Union rates to performers. We are at the point where we need expert help to become a truly sustainable and professional organisation.
