We are seeking an interim Senior Manager to oversee our programmes and activities, engaging the engineering industry on diversity & inclusion, on a fixed term basis (up to 15 months).

The role

As interim Senior Manager, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), you’ll join our dedicated team of diversity professionals at an exciting time, with the opportunity to build momentum across a broad portfolio of impactful diversity and inclusion programmes. Reporting to the Head of Diversity and Inclusion, you will provide oversight and support on the Academy’s work, engaging engineering companies and engineers in industry to increase diversity and embed inclusive cultures.

Leading a team of thee three Programme Managers, you will oversee the successful delivery of exciting, externally facing D&I initiatives, including:

• The Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP): Supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in engineering to transition into engineering employment.
• The Inclusive Leadership Programme (ILP): Empowering leaders at different career stages to embed inclusive practices within their organisations.
• The online EDI Platform Culture+: supporting small and medium engineering organisations to develop behaviours and processes which foster an inclusive culture.
• Our wider programme of industry engagement events raising awareness, building understanding and inspiring action to implement D&I good practice within engineering settings.

Experience of line management with the ability to provide support and empathy to your direct reports while empowering them to maximise their potential is also essential for this role.

Location

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. Refettorio Felix is an innovative charity providing a restaurant quality 3 course meal freshly made entirely from surplus food in our beautiful space, for free, to vulnerable and economically insecure adults. It also offers wrap around care and support in areas such as housing, mental health and employment. 

We offer our services Monday to Friday during the day. At night and at the weekends the space is for hire as an event venue for weddings, parties and corporate events. 

The role is made up of three major components:

1. Focus on the delivery of the commercial events, being heavily involved in all aspects from marketing through to handling enquiries,  and then managing the client relationship and their event to conclusion. 

2. To organise fundraising events in the space. 

3. To assist with the marketing of the charity in general, including the day to day management of the social media channels. 

You should have some knowledge and interest in web sites, an interest in food would be an advantage. Specific experience in a similar role professionally is not essential, your knowledge could have come through voluntary activities, hobbies, university clubs or elements picked up through part time jobs. The essential qualities for this role are being highly organised, highly creative and passionate about the charities mission. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

· Create and deliver fundraising events in the venue.

· Operate the commercial events office on a daily basis - this includes but is not exclusive to: - managing new clients; receiving inbound enquiries: conducting site visits and recording and managing booking details, invoicing and booking necessary staff as required.

· Operate day to day the Charity’s’ Social Media Channels

· Support the management of the charity’s website.

· Assist with the implementation of the commercial events and general charity’s marketing plans, using relevant elements of the marketing mix.

· Develop and produce promotional materials, including copywriting and liaising with other departments, agencies and suppliers.

· Raise the profile and brand of all our facilities and services

· Maintain relationships with agencies, relevant publications, suppliers etc.

· Complete monthly marketing and sales analytics.

· Assist with strategic decision making and reporting.

· Create (yourself and/or using professional photographers) and curate photography to maintain a relevant, up-to-date stock of images for charity publicity, event sales and marketing.

About the role

As Shop Manager, you will be leading a team of staff and volunteers to deliver an outstanding customer experience, creating a vibrant, fun place to shop, work and volunteer. You will have the autonomy to develop your shop and engage with the community and will be expected to attract volunteers and donations locally. You will achieve ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness. 

You will work collaboratively with a peer support group of shop managers and will have opportunities to build your own skills through training and development.

About you

To be successful in this role you need to be an experienced Shop Manager with proven track records of managing a high performing team and achieving sales results. You will have a genuine interest in charity retail and be seeking a challenge that stands out from other retail management roles. You will know how to manage and build Crisis’s reputation within the local community and be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.

You may have experience in; retail management, stock management, people management, customer service, recruitment/interviewing.

The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Regional Change & Deployment (C&D) Manager ESA/WCA in the UK (London or Remote) or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.

Role Purpose:

The Regional Change & Deployment Manager is a role sitting within the Change and Deployment Team that has been created to deliver a number of high priority projects implementing new systems and business processes across Save the Children International (SCI)’s 55 country offices.

The Regional Change Manager has responsibility for managing the change & deployment activities for these priority projects across a number of locations. They are responsible for ensuring all key office stakeholders understand the C&D methodology and its application, facilitating and supporting the offices with each project rollout and consolidation, ensuring active office engagement and ownership to achieve a successful implementation.

For 2024/25 the role will be responsible for completing change and deployment activities relating to the implementation of a new operating model for Save the Children as well as the automation of key business processes such as cash and voucher assistance.

This will include supporting a designated portfolio of country offices across the ESA (East & Southern Africa) and WCA (West & Central Africa) regions. At least 40% of the time is expected to be spent travelling to support country offices.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

• Demonstrated experience and capability of leading, facilitating and influencing change and the delivery of major projects affecting business processes and systems in the field
• Proven ability to work in a large complex and highly networked matrix organisation and influence through ‘soft power’

We currently have an opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Manager within our National Environment & Climate Action Team within the Strategy & Impact Directorate. The S&I directorate analyses current and emerging policy and sets the Trust’s strategy and standards for regional delivery across all the Trust’s activities. The Environment and Climate action team is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum and achieving biodiversity net gain.

Reporting to the Head of Environment and Climate action, the Environmental Management and Compliance manager role will be responsible for the Trust’s Environmental Management System and its associated policies, commitments, and standards, linked to the Trusts evolving sustainability and organisational strategies. The role will require establishing good relationships with other teams in the Trust to drive sound environmental practice from our operations and 3rd party activities.

Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for, and day-to-day management of the Trust’s environmental management system
• Deliver a programme of activities and updates to environmental standards, guidance and tools, ensuring that these are delivered on time and within budget. This forms part of a system refresh that will be delivered this financial year.
• Work with internal technical experts and the Trust’s legal team to ensure that the standards meet regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with Trust operational and delivery teams to ensure that standards are deliverable and align with existing and emerging business processes.
• Manage external technical input where requires (e.g. from consultants)
• Assist in the investigation of environmental incidents, near misses and ensure the production and dissemination of key learnings
• Preparation of board and Environmental Advisory Group (EAG) papers and acts as secretariat of EAG meetings
• Producing case studies and other examples of best practice for internal and external audiences
• Developing and delivering environmental training
• Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times.
• Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

• IEMA Practitioner qualification or equivalent
• Experience of administering environmental management systems, including a good understanding of ISO14000 family of environmental standards.
• Authoring company standards and guidance
• Broad understanding of key environmental themes and associated legislation (Air Quality, Biodiversity, Water Quality, Waste, Pollution Prevention and Control, Invasive Species)
• Experience of investigating environmental incidents and near misses
• Working knowledge of GIS and using spatial data to support environmental strategies
• Project/ programme management skills
• Developing reporting systems and managing environmental data to report progress
• Developing project business cards

The role will be home-based, with the expectation to attend main regional hubs either at Milton Keynes, Birmingham, or Little Venice (Paddington), for collaborative working. This is a national role, requiring collaboration with teams in all six of the Trust’s regions. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able travel to attend meetings or fieldwork throughout the regional waterway network.

We're looking for a Shop Support & Projects Manager! This is an exciting new opportunity to join our brilliant team in our Teddington shop in a brand new role, as part of our ongoing plans to grow our Retail teams and deliver inspiring retail spaces across the UK!

We want to bring the wonders of charity shops back to our high-street and we need driven and passionate people to get us there! 

This position is for an initial 12-month fixed term contract.

About the Role 

As Shop Support & Projects Manager, you will provide focused support on defined areas, working alongside the Shop Manager to understand the shop, community, and proposition.   

This is an exciting new role with huge opportunity to impact the success of our Teddington shop, and to act as an ambassador for our brand in the local community!

Working closely with the Shop Manager in our Teddington shop, you'll take on a varied role delivering on key areas of work to enable the delivery of the shop's potential. You'll help embed new processes and ways of working that empower the volunteer team to help the Shop Manager drive the shop forward. 

From supporting volunteer recruitment, to taking on responsibility for day-to-day operations or leadership of the shop, you'll provide key support and additional capacity to the Shop Manager to enable the shop's continued success.   

About You 

You will be someone with exceptional project coordination skills, who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering. 

You'll bring: 

• Project coordination or operations experience within retail or a transferable setting, e.g. community engagement, volunteer management, retail operations etc. 

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build & maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people.

• A flexible, positive and resilient attitude, able to work at pace in a fast-moving environment. 

• Results driven approach with experience of working to targets. 

• Experience and confidence using a range of IT platforms including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as systems for the management of other areas (e.g. reporting, volunteer management). 

Previous charity retail experience is not essential. If you have transferable project management experience and are looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!

Role purpose: 

To support the development of innovative teaching and learning resources underpinned by our Skills Framework, across our portfolio of qualifications and accredited awards. 

Main duties and responsibilities 

• To develop engaging and accessible learning resources using a range of different formats, which supports learners to develop essential skills through leadership opportunities.

• To build and deliver online learning and training for both learners and tutors.

• To use data and research available to generate ideas and concepts for new and existing programmes. 

• To support engagement with centres (customers) and learners to gather feedback and grow ideas to support programme development.

ROLE DETAILS 

Standing Voice is looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager based in or near London to join our UK team. This is an exciting and challenging role in a creative and focused working environment, within an organisation with multiple programmes and funding streams across 3 countries. This position suits an ambitious and experienced fundraiser, equipped with excellent written and oral communication skills and a depth of donor management experience. 

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and be tasked with advancing & implementing Standing Voice’s Fundraising Strategy including writing grants proposals; diversifying & scaling-up the organisation’s income streams; and managing donor relations and reporting. As well as working alongside UK fundraising, programmes and finance colleagues, the Fundraising Manager will work directly with our teams in Tanzania and Malawi to design and generate project proposals. 

Suitable candidates will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; a high level of organisation and accuracy in their work; and concrete experience of generating income through trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, institutional donors, philanthropy partnerships, and individual giving. ABOUT BLACK ROOTZ

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.

Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions. 

The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the complexity andholistic nature of Black Rootz and will be committed to its values. As a small team, the Project Manager will be as comfortable making plans and big decisions as they are rolling their sleeves up and being hands on to support the team. While this is a fixed-term contract, we expect the role to be extended and grow over time.
