Who we are
We exist to build healthy communities with successful businesses at their heart. Business in the Community – the Prince’s Responsible Business Network - is a business-led membership organisation made up of progressive businesses of all sizes who understand that the prosperity of business and society are mutually dependent. In the spirit of being a responsible business, our members are signed up to:

-Join with other businesses to bring together their collective strength and be a force for good.
What we do
We set a course for responsible business.
We use our Responsible Business Map to guide members on a journey of continuous improvement, working across the whole responsible business agenda. From community engagement to employment, diversity and the circular economy, we offer expert advice and specialist resources, driving best practice by convening, sharing learning and recognising great performance across our influential Network.
Through participation in Business in the Community’s ground-breaking campaigns and programmes, businesses can collaborate and help to bring about lasting change on a wider scale which benefits both business and society.
Business in the Community works best when it galvanises business leaders as pioneers and advocates of the responsible business movement. We are now looking for an England Director to work with business leaders across England to drive membership engagement and membership recruitment. This will be achieved through Business in the Community’s England Regional Advisory Boards and through wider business engagement opportunities. The role will require an experienced leader who can ensure national priorities land effectively in places across England, as well as driving local priorities forward.
Full of energy, drive and a can-do attitude, responsibilities for establishing and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders and member companies will mean you must have a natural ability to build strong relationships and influence at a senior level.
You will also be comfortable speaking publicly and promoting the business case for responsible business practice whether via on public platforms, through the media, or in business and government forums as required.
With the responsibility for ensuring Advisory Board agendas are both aligned with BITC’s key areas of focus and also relevant locally (including implementing and delivering city plans and location strategies), it is also critical that you understand how to interpret national priorities to deliver local impact through the membership.
This role offers you a great opportunity to have a huge impact in communities and on the organisation. Additionally, you will get to work collaboratively with fantastic colleagues and make a real difference to the responsible business agenda. This is a really fantastic opportunity to come and work for BITC at a really interesting period of growth. If you like the sound of what we do and want a challenge, please apply.
