Job Description

At CAFOD, we believe that we should strive for a world where the rights and dignity of every person are respected; all have access to the basic needs in life; women and men share equally in shaping their societies and our world.  For almost 60 years, CAFOD has expressed the compassion of the Catholic community of England and Wales to stand in solidarity with the poorest and most marginalised, regardless of faith, gender, race, ethnicity or other defining features.

As a leading agency in international development, humanitarian and advocacy work, our presence extends to over 40 countries, supporting over 300 partners in local communities worldwide, committed to positive impact on the lives of the poorest and forgotten across the world.

As our longstanding Director, Chris Bain, who has successfully led CAFOD for 15 years retires, we are now seeking an inspirational leader who harnesses our faith identity and enables our international development, humanitarian and advocacy work to deliver our mission of service. As the executive leader and key public face of CAFOD you will also champion CAFOD’s professionalism, profile, influence and credibility within the UK NGO sector, to Government and the media by ensuring the delivery of CAFOD’s ambitious mission. You will lead and inspire our dedicated community of staff and volunteers and ensure that all CAFOD groups work together collaboratively to deliver our strategic directions. We seek a leader committed and excited by our future work who brings strong international experience and connectivity to the Catholic community.
