Oxford, Oxfordshire
£27,000.00 pro rata
Contract, Part-time
Job description

With interest in climate action at an all-time high, we’re looking for a new Communications Coordinator to join our small but impactful team supporting community-led change in Oxfordshire.

We’re looking for an energetic, organised and resourceful Communications Coordinator to manage our newsletters and social media channels, and support communications across our growing network of community action groups in Oxfordshire. The network collaborates to build an Oxfordshire with resilient and empowered communities, so that people and planet can thrive within ecological limits.

You’ll have experience managing impactful social media accounts, writing newsletters and website copy, organising and running events and trainings and an ability to lead your own work and collaborate well in a team. You will be passionate about the environment, tackling social inequality and building a more equal and sustainable society.

We’re a small, dedicated team, motivated by our belief in the power of well-connected community-led action. We work flexibly, trying to bring people together to find skillful solutions, and trying to respond quickly to take opportunities that others might miss. We’d love you to  be the kind of person who’s happy giving things a go and learning from their mistakes, and is comfortable drawing on the skills and resources available around them.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you.

This role is part-time. We are looking for someone who can work between 2 and 3 days a week to help us meet the growing interest in our work. The exact hours will be agreed depending on the candidate’s desired working hours in the role and how that fits with organisational needs. Exact days and hours worked over the week are negotiable with the Lead Coordinator. You must be willing to work evenings and weekends where required as a number of the meetings and events we support occur at these times. The role will generally be based out of our office in Makespace Oxford, but with some flexibility to work from home by agreement with the Lead Coordinator.
