Job description

Senior HR Business Partner – Cambridge Assessment English

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £58,000 to £65,000 per annum

Location: Cambridge

Start Date: As soon as available

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner looking to step up into a more senior and challenging role? Do you have experience or exposure working internationally?

Cambridge Assessment is a leading expert in education and assessment. A part of the University of Cambridge, we have unrivalled depth of experience in national education systems, international education and English language learning. We exist to help people learn, achieve and prove their true potential.

About the role

As Senior HR Business Partner for Cambridge Assessment English (a business unit of Cambridge Assessment), you will lead and develop a small dedicated partnering team with a focus on activities that enable the strategic aims of the unit to be met, including change management, and people development, as well as the provision of day to day operational support. You’ll also be working closely with the partnering team in the Cambridge Assessment International Education business unit to develop cohesive partnering services across our shared international network that includes Europe, the Americas and Asia, for which occasional travel will be necessary.

As a member of the wider Cambridge Assessment HR senior management team, which includes centres of expertise across Organisational Development, Reward, Change and Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you will also be actively involved in and contribute to the ongoing development of our Single Strategy across Cambridge Assessment and Cambridge University Press.

No two days will be the same and life will be busy, varied and interesting.

A bit about you

The sectors you’ve worked in previously are less important to us than your tangible experience. You will have managed change in a large matrix organisation and will have demonstrable business partnering experience as well as being commercially minded and possessing a strong understanding of the value of HR. You will have international experience, as well as having line managed in previous roles.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, difficult conversations don’t ruffle you, and you enjoy the complexity that comes with working in a fast-paced environment. Adept at building strong senior stakeholder relationships, you manage expectations and problem-solving with diplomacy and expertise.

A CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.
