Who are we?

Over the next five years we have set the audacious goal of supporting five million girls in rural sub-Saharan Africa to learn and thrive in school, and to create the future they imagine - for themselves, for their communities, and for Africa.

Why join us?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a passionate and dedicated fundraising team at the outset of an ambitious five-year strategy that campaigns for social justice, economic development and climate action. You will work alongside colleagues globally who like to mix laughs and learning with hard-work and results.

Last month alone, CAMFED was cited by The Guardian as one of the most important aid agencies of the moment and also received the 2021 Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation, which counts Nelson Mandela among its esteemed past laureates.

  • Research country and programme specific statistics, contextual and organisational  information and write summary notes to support proposal development.
  • Maintain accurate salesforce records in accordance with internal fundraising processes and structures.

Research and administration

  • Complete research and due diligence profiles for prospective Trusts, Foundations and Corporates partners.
  • Work with the Head of Trusts and Foundations and the Manager of Corporate Relations to create emails updates, thank you letters and acknowledgements for Institutional donors, according to the Global Fundraising Structure and SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate data records in Salesforce, CAMFED’s CRM.
  • Uphold GDPR regulations at all times and manage complaints within best practice guidelines.

 Coordination of Institutional programmes

  • Support the Head of Trusts and Foundations and the Manager of Corporate Relations in the development and delivery of the Trusts and Foundations and Corporate programmes.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards and data in Salesforce to inform the Trusts and Foundations and Corporate programmes/future pipelines.
  • Support the Head of Trusts and Foundations and the Manager of Corporate Relations in effective stewardship of existing donors through outreach, fundraising materials and informal update reports.
  • Proactively identify and research potential prospects to add to the Institutional pipeline of opportunities.
  • Any other duties as required.

Skills and qualities for the role:

  • Commitment to education, social justice and gender equity.
  • Demonstrable skills in developing complex and compelling written proposals, collating information from a variety of sources.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop content for a variety of audiences.
  • Proactive, with a proven ability to progress multiple workstreams, prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines at the same time.
