The Development Manager is a senior manager role and key to supporting the strategic development of the company through designing and delivering the company’s overall fundraising and development strategy to define and achieve established financial targets.

Role: Development Mananger
Hours: Full time (40hrs per week), permanant position
Location: Cardiff - office based with hybrid working available

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
Main Responsibilities
· Develop and implement the company’s development strategy including (but not limited to):
- Public Funding (including both ACW and ACE)
- Trusts and Foundations
- Corporate supporters and sponsors
- Private giving (individual donors and major givers)
· Research, identify and draft applications, pitches and asks to appropriate funders/supporters, cultivating relationships and securing support to achieve defined targets
· Manage and nurture the ongoing relationships with current and past supporters/funders
· Plan, manage and deliver a planned programme of development events
· Design and deliver reporting processes that are fit for purpose and satisfy funders’ and supporters’ requirements
· Support Finance Officer and Company Administrator in financial reporting of designated funds
· Manage development budgets
Position in the Company
The Development Manager will;
· Be line managed by the Executive Director and report to her
· Produce written updates for the Board of Trustees and report verbally to them as required
· Work in partnership with the company’s Communications and Marketing Manager to engage donors, prospects and key stakeholders with the company, moving from purely transactional relationships to ones based on emotional connection and commitment
· Work with the company’s Executive Team to cultivate new supporters and strategic delivery partners with which to develop and grow the company’s work both within the UK and Internationally
· Work with the company’s Community Programme Manager to cultivate new opportunities for support
· Manage the Development Officer

About the role
Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.
The Museum is looking for a naturally gifted communicator and relationship builder for the role of Philanthropy Executive (Trusts and Foundations) to join our Philanthropy team. You will join us at an exciting time, as we prepare to reopen the Museum’s gardens following the successful Urban Nature Project campaign and as we embark on an ambitious project to transform some of the Museum’s gallery spaces.
This role reports to the Senior Philanthropy Manager (Trusts and Foundations) and works closely with the Philanthropy Manager (Trusts and Foundations). Managing an existing portfolio of donors with plenty of scope for growth, you will fundraise five-figure gifts towards a diverse range of projects and provide general support to the Trusts and Foundations team.

About you
Essential
- Exceptional written communication skills with an ability to convey detailed or scientific information in a concise and engaging manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills and with proven experience of managing or liaising with either clients, customers or charity donors.
- Proven experience of cross-team working and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
- Good understanding of the process of fundraising.
- Excellent administration and organisation skills, demonstrating the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
- Ability to work well as a member of a team as well as on own initiative.
- Ability to attend early morning and evening events as required, acting as an ambassador for the Natural History Museum.
Desirable
- A demonstrable track-record in securing and managing grants from trusts and foundations.
- Experience of working with a fundraising / CRM system.
- Experience carrying out research to a brief (preferably fundraising research, including external research, such as giving history and funding priorities, and internal research, such as gathering figures, statistics and information).
- Knowledge of and an interest in natural history, science, environmental and/or the cultural sector.

Trinity Community Arts is seeking an experienced and dynamic Producer to collaborate with us and our partners, St Pauls Carnival, Citizens In Power and West of England Combined Authority, on the successful delivery of the 2024/5 Citizens’ Assembly for Culture.
This ground-breaking initiative aims to bring together citizens from across the region to meet with creative practitioners, cultural providers and decision-makers to shape the future of a cultural delivery plan for the region.
The Citizens' Assembly Producer is a pivotal role that will successfully plan and oversee the delivery of the Assembly, drive a programme of engagement activities and events and work with the project partners to embed the methodology across the region to enable the planning and delivery of future citizens’ assemblies.
We recognise that this role is likely to be suited to candidates with either:

experience of producing large participatory projects in or around the creative and cultural sectors; or

experience of working on citizens’ assemblies or other forms of deliberative or participatory democracy
