Our Values:
As a local team in Whitehawk, and part of the Trussell Trust, we operate with a rich foundation of
commitments to working in a particular way.
St Cuthman’s, Whitehawk
We have established three strategic values for our next season of work together — two which express the
strengths we already have (joy and togetherness), leveraging them gladly to further our goals; and one
which we are sharpening our focus on (time) in order to make the progress we need.
Joy — Joy is a superpower, forged in perseverance, giving resilience, creating unity, keeping our eyes on
the prize and the good news of progress towards it. Joy brings courage, focus and strength. We practice
gratitude at regular opportunities and celebrate small and big wins — even in the midst of discouragement
and moments that feel like failure.
Togetherness — We understand the importance of team, diversity and positivity in order for each team
member to thrive and achieve their goals, and in order to reach our shared vision. Togetherness isn’t simply
a nice experience along the way to our victories; it is how we achieve them.
Time — our work is urgent, complicated, and full of challenge. Time can often feel against us. We are
learning to make time for what matters. This means growing in focus, boundaries, courage and kind
communication; and it results in feeling more energised, clearer-minded and greater impact.
The Trussell Trust
The Trussell Trust is a charity that works to end the need for food banks. It is founded on and shaped by
Christian principles.
Our values of dignity, justice, compassion and community, are central to all that we do and therefore
supports our aim to be an organisation where the diversity of all employees is valued. We welcome people
of all faiths and none and those that are committed to these values.
We recognise that we have under-represented groups within our workforce. As part of our commitment to
diversity and equality of opportunity we are actively encouraging applications from under-represented
groups such as returning parents or carers who are re-entering work after a career break, people who are
LGBT+, from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, with a disability, impairment, learning difference or long-term condition, with caring responsibilities, from different nations and regions and those
with a lived experience of poverty as well as any other under-represented group in our workforce. We are

Citizens UK
We are Citizens UK. We’re working together to make change on the issues that matter, from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign.
We bring together everyday people and local organisations to build a better, fairer society. Too often communities are left out of decisions that affect their lives, but we know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We develop local leaders who find solutions to problems big and small and hold power-holders to account.
We work with hundreds of civil society organisations, who we call our members - schools, universities, faith groups, charities, unions and more - to help them win change. Over the last 30 years, we’ve worked in alliance with 500+ members, trained 4,000+ community leaders, accredited 13,000 Living Wage employers, and won hundreds of campaigns.
Our Migrants and Refugees Organising (MaRO) team is mainly made up of community organisers from diaspora, refugee, and formerly undocumented backgrounds. They collaborate with local civic organisations and migrant leaders, using community organising to achieve national change.
Purpose
Our immigration and system is too long, too expensive, and fundamentally unfair. The often multi-decade journey towards citizenship leaves people broken and less capable of flourishing as part of their communities.
We firmly believe that migrants possess the capacity to build substantial power, enabling them to achieve social justice for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Citizens UK’s Migrant and Refugee Organising (MaRO) team is looking for the right person to learn the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. Community Organising focuses on the building of relational power, the identification and development of leaders to strengthen the local institutions that make up the fabric of society, support leads to take public actions in order to win systemic change.

Job title: Supporter Care Officer
Reporting to: Fundraising Manager
Terms: Permanent Contract, 25 days Holiday (exc. Bank Holidays) pro rata, 5% pension contribution.
Place of work: Our central office (Bristol) with some hybrid working optional and occasional visits to our Plymouth and Bristol warehouses
About FareShare South West
FareShare South West is the region’s largest food redistribution charity. We take good-to-eat surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, and share it with over 400 charities, schools and community hubs across the south west, joining the dots between food waste and hunger and transforming an environmental problem into social good.
Purpose of role
FareShare South West’s (FSSW) fundraising strategy and income streams have developed and diversified rapidly in line with major growth since 2017. Individual giving (IG) became a new major fundraising stream for us during the pandemic and is essential for ongoing sustainability as we expand and launch new programmes and operations to fight hunger and food waste.
The Supporter Care Officer (SCO) is responsible for all donor support processes, systems, strategies and individual giving fundraising appeals, which ensure we have excellent relationships with our donors to retain and grow our IG income. Powerful narratives, storytelling and engagement with donors is crucial to ensure that our funding need and impact is shared with supporters.
The SCO will work with the Fundraising Manager (FM) and Chief Fundraising and Communications Officer (CFCO) to grow our major donor, regular giving, appeal and legacy income alongside sustaining our irregular giving and Gift Aid income. The SCO will work with the Fundraising Assistant to thank supporters, record donations and support individuals with their own fundraising events.
The pay scale for this role reflects that we're open to applications from experienced Supporter Care and Individual Giving fundraisers, and also those looking to move into the sector who have transferable skills.
