Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need our support. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to head up our fundraising and marketing teams.
With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, we recruit and train home and online reading volunteers to go into disadvantaged areas of London to help introduce young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.
Our unique home-based service, whether in person or online, enables us to find the most appropriate books for every child we visit and build a relationship with the whole family. Our goal is to help children develop the self-confidence and essential skills they need to access all the opportunities that will come their way in life.
We also empower parents/carers to create and maintain a supportive environment by signposting them to local services and community support. Our projects not only improve literacy but also increase family wellbeing and bonding. Our tailored service enables us to help prepare children for school and broaden their opportunities in later life.

JOB PURPOSE
· Strategic responsibility for fundraising, including partnership development and maintaining the charity’s strong relationships with our wide range of funding partners;
· Strategic responsibility for marketing, to increase the charity’s profile and increase engagement;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To manage the charity’s fundraising operations including coordinating prospect research and prioritisation, managing workflows, and ensuring effective stewardship of donors, corporate supporters and trust and foundations grants;
· To oversee the charity’s marketing operations, including digital and printed content creation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising to report to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will sit on the Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO, Head of Operations and Head of Delivery and Engagement.
You will have substantial, proven experience of working in fundraising and of developing and sustaining partnerships, ideally in the third sector, and of how to build financial sustainability. You will be a highly organised people-person and will be responsible for line managing two Fundraising and Marketing Officers.
You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire others about our work. With outstanding interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to forge new relationships and you will thrive on enhancing our current partnerships and identifying and creating new ones.
Finally, you will be truly passionate about the work that we do to support children and families in disadvantaged areas of London and be driven to share our work with as many people as possible.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy
· To work closely with the CEO and trustee board to lead on the development, planning and delivery the Doorstep Library’s fundraising strategy, with further development of a longer-term strategy;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To take a lead on application bids, including managing, monitoring and evaluating all funding applications;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
Grow, develop and sustain our partnerships and income streams
· To lead, deliver and grow our existing relationships with all of our funding partners; foundations, corporates, independent schools and individual donors to raise circa £850K pa;
· To identify new potential partners, working closely with the CEO and board of trustees to develop these partnerships;
· To establish a corporate supporters programme and individual giving campaigns, plus develop effective stewardship systems;
· To have responsibility for retaining and engaging the charity’s supporters, this includes providing formal reports and updates on the work of the charity;
· Working with the Fundraising and Marketing Officers to effectively communicate the impact of our work to internal and external stakeholders;
Communications
· Work with the Marketing Officer to implement improvements to our digital presence, including website optimization, social media strategy, and online advertising campaigns;
· Research and analyse sector news/ developments;
· Oversee the creation of the annual report and impact report;
· Create and maintain a stock of case studies/ success stories and photos;
· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns;
Line Management
· To have direct line management responsibility for the Fundraising and Marketing Officers;
· To create an environment where the team feels fully supported and enabled to grow and develop under your management;
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria
1. A proven track record of delivery results in fundraising and/or partnership management
2. Knowledge of successful fundraising from a variety of sources, including at least two of corporates, major donors, individual giving, local authorities and trusts & foundations
3. Proven experience in securing five figure gifts, managing the donor cycle from initial stages through to stewardship
4. The ability to maintain current income streams and identify opportunities for growth
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and in an engaging manner in person and in writing to a variety of audiences
6. Strong relationship building skills – experience of working with a wide range of people, from large corporate teams to potential individual donors
7. Highly organised – ability to manage a number of projects and tasks at the same time
8. Ability to generate and implement new ideas and see them through to completion
9. A positive team player, working with, supporting and encouraging colleagues

Based in the University of Oxford’s Development and Alumni Engagement department, the Prospect Research Team drives the ambitious fundraising activities of the University. It does this in a number of ways, and the major focus of this role is on the team’s work in carrying out due diligence research as part of the University’s donations acceptance process.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Prospect Research and working alongside two other Prospect Research Managers in a wider team, the postholder will play a key role in overseeing our crucial work in this area. The role also offers the opportunity of line management responsibilities.

Job Purpose
Oceana is looking for an experienced Head of Policy and Research to develop, implement and advise on all of our policy and research requirements in the UK. The position will be based in Oceana’s office in Paddington, London. Occasional travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations.
Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Head of Policy and Research will work closely with other members of the Campaigns team ensure Oceana UK’s campaigns are scientifically robust and promoting sound policies. The role will help Oceana to carve out its niche and leadership in this complex campaigning landscape and drive forward bold policy positioning and hard-hitting research that inspire meaningful change.
Eligible candidates should have experience in both policy and research, as well as being strategic and proactive. They should be a self-starter, have leadership experience, and have a strong ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
This role will be based in our Paddington, London office three days per week (Tues-Thurs) with two days home working (Mon and Fri). It reports to the Campaigns Director.
Role Overview:
Policy:
Ø Lead on all projects relating to improvements in UK fisheries policies – including interpretation, analysis and engagement on existing and potential policies.
Ø Lead on all work relating to improvements in UK marine policies more broadly (e.g. MPAs; pollution; MSP; offshore energies) - including interpretation, analysis, and engagement on existing and potential policies.
Ø Advise on the strategic approach that Oceana UK takes to policy work.
Ø Respond to government policy consultations linked to our campaign areas (or coordinate our response with internal staff/consultants), and contribute to group responses (e.g. Wildlife & Countryside Link).
Ø Engage effectively with government civil servants on relevant policy matters.
Ø Engage collaboratively with policy counterparts within NGO partners where required.
Ø Draft robust, evidence-based policy positions; advise Senior Leadership Team on new or existing policy positions; and provide reactive policy advice when required.
Research:
Ø Lead, manage and coordinate all research projects for Oceana UK (including scientific, legislative and legal research) working closely with the campaigns team.
Ø Coordinate closely with wider campaigns team to understand, plan for and agree research opportunities and needs.
Ø Commission and manage external researchers where required.
Ø Advise on the strategic approach that Oceana UK takes to research.
Ø Engage effectively with research focused government agencies (e.g. JNCC, Cefas, Natural England. Marine Management Organisation).

Candidate Requirements
Education and work experience:
Ø At least 5 years of professional experience in policy and/or research, ideally in oceans or the environment.
Ø Experience leading and developing a strategic approach to policy and research, and integrating this with campaigns goals.
Ø Experience working closely and collaboratively with campaigns colleagues.
Ø Experience lobbying and negotiating with civil servants in government on policy matters.
Ø Experience commissioning, managing and analysing complex research projects and ensuring their application to policy work and/or campaign delivery.
Ø Experience developing and writing strategic plans, contributing to planning and budgeting processes.
Ø Postgraduate degree in fisheries, marine biology, oceanography, or a related field.

2. Job Description
The Head of External Engagement is a key leadership post within the organisation. The role encompasses responsibility for the development and delivery of the organisation’s external activity, including profile, brand identity and stakeholder engagement (including the public), fundraising, and driving income generation in new areas, notably commercial partnerships. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
An experienced fundraiser and communicator, you will lead the external engagement team and support the delivery of its strategic and operational plans. The broad remit of the role means the successful candidate will be a strong and confident communicator who builds networks easily and prioritises exceptional stakeholder management and relationship development.
Sound and Music operates a hybrid working model with a mix of in person and remote working, so we welcome applications from anywhere in the UK. Our office is in London and the minimum requirement will be to attend one day per week.

3. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management
External leadership:
· Represent Sound and Music publicly, including through stakeholder and supporter events
· Work with the Head of Programmes to ensure Sound and Music’s advisory groups are meaningfully engaged
· Be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Sound and Music
Internal leadership:
· Shared strategic responsibility and accountability for Sound and Music’s three core aims and their associated objectives, outcomes and outputs
· Shared accountability (with other senior management colleagues) for the successful delivery and implementation of the organisation’s Business Plan
· Lead the organisation’s External Engagements team. This team includes a Communications and Insights Manager and Fundraising Coordinator (both line managed by the Head of External Engagement) plus support from other Sound and Music team members
Development and fundraising
· Develop and support the Chief Executive on the overall business and development strategy for the organisation to ensure we meet fundraising targets (£200k in 2024-25) for annual programmes and major projects
· Develop an ambitious fundraising programme which builds our supporter base and individual funding streams, including individuals, major gifts and public funders
· Drive income growth by identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and contribute to the development of an enhanced commercial mindset across the organisation
· Develop and cultivate the existing trusts and foundations pipeline
· Prepare documents and reports for key funders including Arts Council England
· Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key funders, commercial organisations and stakeholders and cultivate existing relationships within the organisation
· Establish new income streams, for example, by maximising the intellectual property created within the organisation
· Engage the Board of Trustees and senior management team in fundraising activities and the ongoing strategy to optimise donor management and stewardship to develop a culture of fundraising across the organisation
· Maximise the opportunities provided by the new CRM system and contribute to the development of a data-led mindset across the organisation
Communications and campaigns
· Develop and lead the overall communications and reputation management strategy for varied stakeholders to ensure we increase our visibility and influence in the sector
· Support the Chief Executive to build the profile of our brand, drive the media messaging and oversee and power our content media campaigns
· Support the Chief Executive to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with government and culture and media opinion formers
Strategy and planning
· Work with the Chief Executive and other senior management team members to monitor, evaluate and review KPIs, strategies and activity so as to maximise Sound and Music’s impact. This includes reporting and presenting to the Board and externally to help build engagement and relationships in the sector and with funders
· Assess the reputational, financial, delivery and other risks associated with current and new projects and partnerships
· Empower, model, support and encourage cross-team working to realise the full income generating possibilities of projects
Finance and governance
· Contribute to creating and monitoring the overall organisation budget
· Work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Programmes and Finance Manager to formulate financial strategy against specified budget areas, and to ensure that the programme activity is sufficiently resourced, planned and delivered to budget
· Ensure close monitoring of income and expenditure for relevant budget lines and contribute to senior management team financial planning and review
· Attend Board and Financial Subcommittee meetings to present and report impact on a quarterly basis

Consortium hosts the largest network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + groups, projects and organisations in the UK (600 members) and offers a range of support so that they can deliver vital support and services to over 5 million LGBT+ people, their friends and families. We are also a specialist grant funder, having provided over £1.75m in grants since 2019, across 275 awards, with this being an exciting area of growth falling within the remit of this role.
We are recruiting for a Head of Partnerships and Development who will support our charity, and the LGBT+ sector, to continue growth in an appropriate and sustainable way. We are seeking an excellent relationship builder who can help us maximise our ability to generate positive social impact through relationship-building and fundraising skills.
As Head of Partnerships & Development you will be responsible for managing key business partnerships, identifying new potential income streams (for Consortium & the LGBT+ sector), and exploring opportunities to increase the impact of our work.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior communications and media professional to lead International Alert’s global Communications team.
We are hiring this role at a pivotal time for Alert, as we implement our new organisational strategy. The postholder will have a unique opportunity to lead delivery of our global communications strategy, supporting the delivery of our organisational objectives and ensuring we maximise our peacebuilding impact.
The role will work in close collaboration with our country, regional and policy teams to deliver high-quality, impactful communications about peacebuilding in the places we work and on key topics such as the climate crisis, women’s and LGBT+ inclusion, and conflict-sensitive investment, centering the voices of the people and partners with whom we work.
You’ll be an excellent communicator and strategic thinker, with experience of delivery of communications across a range of channels and media. You will be responsible for driving up Alert’s visibility and profile and maintaining relationships with journalists, bringing with you good knowledge of the media landscape and excellent contacts.
You’ll have great interpersonal skills, able to work with people inside and outside the organisation across a range of geographies and backgrounds. You’ll be comfortable advising senior leadership within Alert and adept at identifying opportunities to raise Alert’s profile. Role duties and responsibilities:
Strategy and planning
- Develop and implement a three year communications strategy for Alert, in line with the organisational strategy, ensuring consultation and collaboration with Alert’s global and country teams

Your purpose
This year Voice 21 are recruiting to a newly formed Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs department to help address these challenges. As Campaigns Manager, you will support the Head of Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs to make oracy education ordinary, co-ordinating and project managing communications campaigns as well as leading content delivery. Role Summary
To promote and amplify the strategic vision and missional activities and objectives of the church through an effective digital communications strategy. To lead on delivery and establish a team of volunteers who together inspire a culture of creativity and implement all elements of media, design and communication. This role will continue the development of the ‘City Rise’ brand, creating a distinct tone of voice with a strong, recognised design style. Through a range of communication channels including copy, print, web, videography, photography, social media, internal signage and visuals, this role will actively collaborate with ministries to promote, capture and convey the energy and life of our diverse and growing community.
Role Responsibilities
- Effectively create and deliver the communications strategy, in line with the vision and missional objectives.
- Serve the City Rise vision by contributing to the wider operations and ministries of the church where needed.
- Grow a team and establish a creative community at City Rise - Identify, develop and support a team of volunteers who can dream and deliver creative ideas to enrich our vision and mission in line with our values.
- Identity, develop and lead a team of volunteers for involvement in Sunday services & key events throughout the year, developing a consistent style of photography and videography across services and events, including editing all Sunday and midweek content, compiling/organising photos.
- Manage all digital platforms and access to church accounts.
- Socials - Manage all social media accounts and continually develop ways to grow and engage viewers, including concept creation and development of social media campaigns, and creating and designing social media content from Sunday and weekly events, scheduling and posting as required.
- Create templates and oversee social media delivery for other ministries e.g. youth and young adults.
- Design and produce print and digital assets, from lanyards and flyers to signs and T-shirts. (for e.g. online, Sunday services and other events and ministries) ensuring all publicity adheres to our brand guidelines.
- Website - Design, review and update content of the website as necessary.
- Digital Display - Oversee and create the media used through screens onsite: notices, adverts and slides.
- Communicate effectively, both internally (with leadership and team volunteers) and externally (relating to our broader community).
- Support the termly planning for events and activities, attending planning meetings for creative input as required.
Hours: Full Time - Sunday to Thursday, (4 days could be considered for the right candidate, but will include Sundays)
Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Battersea, London SW11 1EJ. Hybrid and remote working by negotiation.
Leave Entitlement: 28 days (pro rata) annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays
Salary Band: £27,000-£34,000
This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This will be demonstrated by a commitment to supporting and demonstrating the Church of England Statement of Faith. Due to the core responsibilities of the role, the candidate should, if not already, be an active member in the City Rise St Mark’s congregation.

Background
Our 68-year-old charity is one of the most exciting and flexible employers in the charity sector. Having supported 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and their 100,000 heroic volunteer fundraisers to raise more than £1 Billion during the past decade, last year we began to lay the foundations for significant growth in impact during the decade ahead, not just to extend the impact of PTAs, but to provide more broader support for parents in enabling their children to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.
During the summer, we launched a membership magazine (PTA Extra), and a popular programme of parent webinar covering such topics as: ‘Supporting your child’s mental health’, ‘Helping your child succeed in KS2 English’, ‘Neurodiversity in Children Matters’.In the autumn began building a fundraising team to support PTAs by fundraising at the national level.In December we launched the highly successful ‘National Parent Survey’ to explore the challenges and concerns parents face. This year we relaunch a national publication for parents new to school, called ‘Be School Ready’, and our new ‘PTA Launchpad’ programme.

Main purpose and scope of Role
This role will play key to engaging with and supporting PTAs across the region, as well as a variety of stakeholders such as schools, parent groups, local authorities, potential sponsors or supporters and other organisations as our suite of programmes grows. This role initially focuses on the following, but is subject to change as programmes are launched or evolved:
PTA Programme
- Growing our network of PTAs.
- Supporting PTAs through leadership transition to minimise PTAs closing unnecessarily.
- Organising gatherings of PTAs to enhance the PTA community.
- Providing training and awareness sessions for PTAs.
- Providing community support to PTAs during peak activity periods online or by phone.
- Helping schools establish PTAs and supporting them during their first year through our new PTA Launchpad programme.
- Hosting and co-ordinating virtual webinars/meetings to demonstrate the value of PTA membership and the support available.
Parent Programme
- Raising awareness of Parentkind’s growing programme of support for parents, directly or indirectly through schools or other partners.
- Building relationships with parent groups to support engagement with our growing suite of parent support opportunities.
- Organising events for parents as part of our Parent Programme.
- Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.
Other Programmes/Services
- Encouraging uptake or (when charged) sales of our broad and growing suite of programmes and services.
- Identifying and engaging with local and regional partners for our range of programmes.
- Feeding into programme design.
Wider Stakeholder Engagement:
- Attending appropriate conferences and educational meetings across the region.
- Developing relationships with key local authorities and individuals so they advocate our services and the benefits of our programmes
- Developing relationships with MATs so that they can advocate Parentkind and the benefits of its programmes.
- Identify any opportunities for external funding to from LA’s, Companies, or other funders with the support of our fundraising team.
Organisational Effectiveness:
- Create and implement operational annual plans and schedules to support our regional targets, ensuring that time specific milestones for their delivery are met.
- Regularly report on the health of our campaigns within your region, through identified KPIs and organisational targets.
- Ensure all knowledge and information is recorded, processed and maintained according to good administration practice.
General
- To keep abreast of relevant educational policy and legislation affecting our key audiences.
- To be flexible within the broad remit of the post.
- To undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.
